yeah. besides, if they kicked on a first or second down, and the snap went bad, they could just eat the ball and try again.

I do dig that the law of averages have come back on Belichick and the Pats, as they got a whole lot of floss on their wins which were all really close games and could have gone wither way. It wasn't like the Pats were the Niners blowing out clubs 55 to 10.

xpost. it's really interesting though because the the last three times they were there, they were well above their opponents in talent. Pre-free agency those blowouts were more common though just due to how far apart the AFC and NFC were in talent.

I will say the Eagles game was closer in score than it was on the field. Once they tied it at 14, they dominated.

xpost - most definitely. a play or two the other way in any of their super bowls and that's the difference

i mean if one of the giants fumbles bounces the other direction..

Am I the only fule who left the TV on and is now watching The Voice?

frogbs, stills, and nash (Neanderthal), Monday, 6 February 2012 03:56 (twelve years ago) link

i put on espn though i don't really know why, it's not like this is fun to watch.

it is kind of amazing that the game winning td was scored by accident

seriously, THIS GUY (daria-g), Monday, 6 February 2012 03:57 (twelve years ago) link

You guys missing out on witty Sonny and Cher repartee between Xtina and Maroon 5's Adam Levine.

Hambone Italiano (James Redd and the Blecchs), Monday, 6 February 2012 03:58 (twelve years ago) link

The first one NE totally owes the win to Mike Martz whose hubris kept throwing the damn ball instead of managing the clock and running Marshall Faulk. All they had to do was run the ball for no gain like twice instead of in-completions and NE doesn't have the time to get it into FG range.

earlnash, Monday, 6 February 2012 03:58 (twelve years ago) link

yeah, it's funny, there were a lot of cocky Ram fans talking up the Rams as the next dynasty and all that but that game was truly the beginning of the end for the franchise.

frogbs, stills, and nash (Neanderthal), Monday, 6 February 2012 04:00 (twelve years ago) link

Yeah...and the odd thing is that they might end up back in LA.

earlnash, Monday, 6 February 2012 04:01 (twelve years ago) link

lol friend of mine whining on FB how she thought all of her friends were prematurely calling the game for the Giants and then realized they'd been ten minutes behind on DVR for the entire second half

frogbs, stills, and nash (Neanderthal), Monday, 6 February 2012 04:02 (twelve years ago) link

imo they should move the Rams back to L.A., Cardinals back to St. Louis, and put the Jaguars in a submarine and detonate it in the Atlantic Ocean

i cant wait until there's a gif or a youtube of bob kraft's reaction to the failed hail mary, where he looks absolutely devastated, and then slowly turns his head up to the heavens as if to ask myra kraft why she didnt tip the ball into gronk's hands. i was laughing and laughing at his pain, lol

Assmaster (Hungry4Ass), Monday, 6 February 2012 05:15 (twelve years ago) link

yeah that was fucking hilarious

he looked so totally stunned & dumbfounded

J0rdan S., Monday, 6 February 2012 05:16 (twelve years ago) link

horseshoe, Monday, 6 February 2012 05:27 (twelve years ago) link

I loved that Kraft reaction, it looked like he was witnessing them ass-raping his children on the field, the look on his face was AWESOME.

Janet Snakehole (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 6 February 2012 05:29 (twelve years ago) link

as someone who is relatively new to the sport i have to say the tentative giants buttdown/touchdown was one of the most strangest/most brilliant moments in my sport-watching life

Michael B Higgins (Michael B), Monday, 6 February 2012 05:41 (twelve years ago) link

"buttdown"! right up there with "the giant snatch" by tyree.

"bruh" is the black bro (forksclovetofu), Monday, 6 February 2012 05:49 (twelve years ago) link

Jimmy Fallon half-time auditions thing was very funny. But I don't know, Adam Sandler AND Andy Samberg coming up? Too much A$

Hambone Italiano (James Redd and the Blecchs), Monday, 6 February 2012 05:54 (twelve years ago) link

that gif is truly hypnotic.....wtf was he gonna do ffs....darragh speak btw

Michael B Higgins (Michael B), Monday, 6 February 2012 06:49 (twelve years ago) link

it cracks me up :)

Michael B Higgins (Michael B), Monday, 6 February 2012 06:51 (twelve years ago) link

time of possession: giants +15 mins
turnovers forced by NE: 0
three and outs forced by NE: 0
shortest NYG drive: 7 plays, 22 yards
# of NE drives: 9, of which 6 from inside their 20, of which 3 from inside their 10

crushing possession and field position - that is how you win a football game tbh. great job giants. pats desperately need a defense that shows up between the 20s.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 6 February 2012 11:13 (twelve years ago) link

this IS the same team whose fans were telling me 2 months ago how much they suck, right? so, they're like the St Louis Cardinals?

Everyone is lucky I don't work near the fucking victory parade zone.

Literal Facepalms (Dr Morbius), Monday, 6 February 2012 12:36 (twelve years ago) link

in not making that decision earlier he kinda threw the game. brady w/ 2 minutes and 2 timeouts? totally doable
