The whole thing with people going after Cutl3r is so g-dmn stupid. I can see being mad that the Bears lost. I can see being pissed at Cutl3r for playing like crap in the first half. But for most of these 'football players' to tee off on the dude for being pulled out of a game with an injury is just moronic. They pulled the second string QB as he was not mobile enough and thought Hanie would be able to avoid the rush. Tom Brady got pulled out of a conference championship game. Palmer got knocked out with a simliar but worse injury.

Cutl3r has a dopey looking face, what the fck should he had been doing? Should he be staring down the Packers with a 'GAME FACE'? The guy had a headset on and was working with Hanie on the side line.

I can only go on what I have saw since the guy got to Chicago. Appearantly Cutl3r has made some pretty serious enemys in the sports writers and TV casters, as this meme as he is a jerk has blown up to the point that guys can go off a bit of video and call him a coward shuttering in fear of AJ Hawk. WTF? C'mon axxholes, it's not like the guy sexually assaulted (allegededly) a couple of college girls or ran a dog fighting ring? Other than maybe being a dick to some reporters and telling his new coach in Denver to go screw after he lied to him about trying to trade him, what has the guy did? Criminy (i know..I like that word) you'd think he had pissed in the Wheaties of half the NFL fans in this country on how some are reacting.

Jake Cutl3r, face it bro, the world just hates your face and I think just like some guys always look stoned, you got one of those kind of faces.

WTF? I don't quite get it.

Many among the Bears fans are a cowardly and superstitious lot quick to the pitchfork and bonfire. The only time I saw a game in person at old Soldier field was this game at the end of the Ditka years, when things were falling apart. Jim Harbaugh was the QB and he got murdered. Got sacked 4 times but man he got hit EVERY time he had the ball. On the way out of the game we were listening to the mouthbreathers on Chicago sports radio and they were just murdering Harbaugh for the Bears losing and really the guy did what he could, as Harbaugh was a pretty mobile guy for a QB.

http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/199211020chi.htm

This bruhaha today on Cutler brought up that memory. They ran Harbaugh out of town and he had some decent games along the way, never turning into the star that was once expected, but he would have been WAY better than some of the shite guys that played QB for the Bears.

Sad sad sad....

earlnash, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:08 (fifteen years ago)

seriously this is disgusting. Cutl^r was sacked roughly 400 times this season, played in a crazy martz system that put his career at risk every game, and all of a sudden he wimps out in the title game? It's ridiculous and asinine to think that. If he was gonna bitch out he would have done it week 2.

Matt Armstrong, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:08 (fifteen years ago)

why was ditka so hated at the end? (xp)

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 24 January 2011 23:09 (fifteen years ago)

I heard on Dan Patrick show today that Mike Martz was the reason Todd Collins was #2 on the depth chart, that he lobbied for a 'veteran' backup. Presumably he meant civil war veteran, not football veteran. WTG, Martz

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:11 (fifteen years ago)

nyfg sacked cutler nine times in one half. but yeah, he's soft

mookieproof, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:12 (fifteen years ago)

exactly.

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:14 (fifteen years ago)

I was just saying to my co-worker, Chicago and Philly have to be 2 of the hardest cities to be a QB in.

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:14 (fifteen years ago)

dc too, i think, although the qb probs have been overshadowed by similar incompetence in every other aspect of team management

mookieproof, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:17 (fifteen years ago)

pittsburgh is kind of funny -- even when the qb is really good, the defense tends to get all the credit

mookieproof, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:19 (fifteen years ago)

I think some of the Chicago fans still loved Ditka to the end and some never forgave the McCaskeys for firing him. Mike Ditka was as good a coach as the players and coaches he had. The Bears offense has always been pretty damn stale, pretty much the only dynamism came from Walter, but he got old and Neal Anderson who had flashes, fell off pretty quick. By 92, that killer club from the 80s was getting old and retired (some of the key guys like Payton, Hampton, Fencik etc were longtime vets when 85-86 happened). Ditka was a ra ra guy, the guy wasn't a football technical schemer. Buddy Ryan was the genius, he was already there before Ditka became head coach and had helped put that defense together.

Ditka went to an aging rebuilding team in NO, which with Mora had some real talent on the defense, then traded a near draft for Ricky Williams. It was his call, but you can scream as much as you want, if your players suck, they aren't going to win bupkus.

Also the 52 defense as a scheme, while it works in some particular plays, got ate up as fxxk by those west coast short passing attacks. It was a scheme that worked for that particular time with that great front 7. That Bear defense at it's peak was loaded to the bone on pass rushers and then they had real depth at DT with guys that would screw you if you left them in single coverage. It was just nasty.

earlnash, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:23 (fifteen years ago)

I think there's a certain level of just irrational craziness you get with a fanbase that basically are sitting at the Superbowl stadium waiting for their team to arrive. Teams like Philly or Chicago get to the playoffs and lose but their fans are pissed bc they've already skipped right ahead to the superbowl.

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:28 (fifteen years ago)

And I don't mean regular fans. I mean like the bizzarro talkback fans

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:29 (fifteen years ago)

Don't even get me started on Big Ben and the hype on him today I heard on sports talk radio. The guy had a statistically shite day, yet he was 'the best player on the field' according to these guys. Rofflesberger is a definite big upgrade on Kordell Stewart sure...but you put him on the Pats or Colts, they probably are not a .500 club. All I got to say to any of these geniuses, is if Peyton Manning goes to the Steelers by fluke or crook, they probably would have won a half dozen titles. Steelers are still stupid for not drafting Marino, that made no damn sense 25 years after the fact.

Steelers have a killer NT in Hampton, that they have to put two guys on every play, which frees up that corps of psychotics linebackers to pretty much tee off on anything that moves. All of those linebackers are just nasty, tie that in that they try to scheme for those dudes, they use guys like Polamalu or some of their corners like an MX missle in blitzes. That is why they are going to their 3rd Superbowl and that is why they have pretty much been there nearly every year for the past 10-15 years.

earlnash, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:29 (fifteen years ago)

of concern is the fact that dick lebeau's contract is up

did you see hampton freak out after one play yesterday? i don't know if someone chopped him or what, but he was pissed.

mookieproof, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:34 (fifteen years ago)

It's crazy how the Steelers are always able to dig up great linebackers for their scheme.

marios balls in 3d for 3ds (Princess TamTam), Monday, 24 January 2011 23:36 (fifteen years ago)

Some of those guys like Farrior and Harrison have been there a good long time.

earlnash, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:36 (fifteen years ago)

I think they have a breeding program

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:37 (fifteen years ago)

well, the 3-4 emphasizes them and makes them happy i guess. a happy linebacker is a rampaging linebacker

mookieproof, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:39 (fifteen years ago)

ben got impatient waiting for his turn i guess

omar little, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:39 (fifteen years ago)

Ben is not the best QB in the league but he is damned good. Mendenhall was the offensive MVP yesterday, though.

polyphonic, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:43 (fifteen years ago)

kind of amazed that the steelers have gotten here (and had that running game in the first half yesterday) with the offensive line in shambles

mookieproof, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:45 (fifteen years ago)

Harrison later told the Beaver County Times that if not for Haggans's injury, he planned on retiring from football at age 26 to focus on becoming a veterinarian, something that Harrison still plans on doing after his football career ends. Harrison also considered following in his father's footsteps and become a truck driver,[6] and to this day does have a commercial driver's license.[8]

marios balls in 3d for 3ds (Princess TamTam), Monday, 24 January 2011 23:45 (fifteen years ago)

i thought BR had a pretty great game, despite the misleading stat line. he kept drives alive with his feet and a few clutch throws. i thought he handled that defense 100x better than either manning or brady, altho it is worth noting that neither those dudes had a healthy hi-cailber rb.

Roberto Spiralli, Monday, 24 January 2011 23:48 (fifteen years ago)

also, if i was cutlol, i would be delighted that everyone is talking about how he is a pussy rather than how he is at the core a shitty, unreliable quarterback who will never show up for enough important games in a row to ever win anything.
