I think part of the problem is Cut.ler's demeanour is alway 100% 'hi I am a sullen teenager'. Makes it hard for any onlooker, fan or otherwise, to rally around him, let alone root for him.

the cortisone issue is an actual issue w/r/t this. my dad's mentioned cortisone in the past as a must to avoid for him, since he's diabetic. apparently it can seriously fuck up your sugar levels for months afterward or permanently worsen your diabetes, if not do something even more grim.
