Watching live, I somehow missed the on-field humping but the Rex Ryan tantrum was A+ awesome and only could have been better if he'd also destroyed his clipboard by ripping it apart with his teeth or torn open his vest a la Hulk Hogan.

awful jets fan in bar last night--screaming, basically jumping out of his seat begging for pass interference and roughing-the-sanchize penalties (btw his #6 jersey went down to the tops of his knees)--even the other folks who were there to support the jets were telling him to calm the fuck down.

when the steelers were finally in the victory formation i made sure to check what he was doing--naturally he was texting, furiously.

which ILXor did it end up being

also eternal lol @ Ryan tantrum as well

Indolence Mission (DJP), Monday, 24 January 2011 14:58 (fifteen years ago)

lol it will remain a mystery.

btw this was at the thirsty scholar (the bar in the social network)--that place is fucked up--i'm really glad we lost trivia and don't have to go back there.

call all destroyer, Monday, 24 January 2011 15:01 (fifteen years ago)

on its 11pm "news" last night, the nyc fox station had live reports from a new jersey bar, a long island house party and a modell's in times square (?) reporting on fan reaction to the loss.

there was a dude crying in the new jersey bar

http://c0848462.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/3d93bd2c4f3f1b33c02182fd0f20476f.png jersey burning fans are assholes imo.

"No limp" is hardly proof of dogging it, a close friend of mine has had similar knee damage and has been in severe pain despite surgery...has missed rehearsals and work, but has no limp at all.

They are saying MCL tear in knee atm, determining the Grade of it.

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 24 January 2011 17:03 (fifteen years ago)

Yea I had the sense to just throw my Miami Culpepper jersey in the trash

show me your ticks (San Te), Monday, 24 January 2011 17:04 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, donate it to Goodwill or something- sheesh.

xp (or just throw it away, too)

get off my lawn (rockapads), Monday, 24 January 2011 17:05 (fifteen years ago)

Yea I woulda donated to Goodwill but we were clearing stuff out of an old house on a deadline and had to discard what we couldn't transport.

Still the worst jersey I ever bought.

show me your ticks (San Te), Monday, 24 January 2011 17:11 (fifteen years ago)

That's why you should piss on it, videotape it and post it to Youtube, and then wash it and take it to Goodwill.

haha exactly!

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 24 January 2011 17:17 (fifteen years ago)

After the Culpepper debacle I wanted to defecate on it, strap dynamite to it, explode it...sew it back together, wash it, and force a Raiders fan to wear it at gunpoint the next year

burning a pats jersey just means you hate america which is your choice since we have freedom of speech here

ice cr?m, Monday, 24 January 2011 17:50 (fifteen years ago)

the thing that surprises me most about the http://c0848462.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/3d93bd2c4f3f1b33c02182fd0f20476f.png jersey-burning is that anyone actually bought a http://c0848462.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/3d93bd2c4f3f1b33c02182fd0f20476f.png jersey.

get off my lawn (rockapads), Monday, 24 January 2011 18:07 (fifteen years ago)

I mean, I have come to like the guy OK, and I hope this blows over and he stays with Chi and matures as a QB, but I just can't imagine getting his jersey as opposed to Urlacher or Hester's.

get off my lawn (rockapads), Monday, 24 January 2011 18:07 (fifteen years ago)

Yea buying QB jerseys, unless they are those of proven top tier QBs like Rivers/Brady/Manning/Rodgers etc just increases likelihood that you'll have a useless outdated jersey in three years.

Go for the positions where longevity is more likely -- my Zach Thomas gave me a lot of usage!

show me your ticks (San Te), Monday, 24 January 2011 18:13 (fifteen years ago)

I went back and forth for years on which jersey to get...I learned pretty quickly that my favorite current players disappeared pretty quickly (sniff, Zack Crockett, Tyrone Wheatley) and there was no way I was ever going to get a bandwagon new quarterback jersey because that's just asking for trouble. Still lol at all the people who went out and got Russell jerseys as soon as he was signed (and there were TONS of them at the first games)

I ended up getting a Stabler jersey: there's no way he's ever going to get cut or crap out. (lol then again I guess you could have said the same thing about Lawrence Taylor, oof)

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 24 January 2011 18:16 (fifteen years ago)

looks like he tore his MCL

the ranting about how http://c0848462.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/3d93bd2c4f3f1b33c02182fd0f20476f.png wasn't "man enough" to return is ridiculous. the guy took a beating in the regular season and didn't sit until he got concussed.

show me your ticks (San Te), Monday, 24 January 2011 18:20 (fifteen years ago)

Frogbs otm - these type of rush to judgment fans are the same people who likely rush into hiding during the 6-10 seasons.

Pleasant Plains, Monday, 24 January 2011 18:23 (fifteen years ago)

I've been thinking about this http://c0848462.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/3d93bd2c4f3f1b33c02182fd0f20476f.png thing a lot.

It reminds me of ex-military communities and whatnot where there's a pretty loud and vocal opinion on the right and wrong kind of behaviour, and perceptions of weakness or whatever.

I'm no http://c0848462.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/3d93bd2c4f3f1b33c02182fd0f20476f.png stan but I would be pretty po'd at all the players weighing in on his 'toughness'. They made it into the playoffs, dude has been sacked a ridiculous number of times this season, he doesn't generally strike me as a player who would quit on his team. And honestly, if Urlacher has his back then maybe he's legit. Bc if baldy thought that http://c0848462.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/3d93bd2c4f3f1b33c02182fd0f20476f.png wasn't giving 110% he wouldn't be afraid to say it imo

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 24 January 2011 18:23 (fifteen years ago)

Xpost Yea and Rivers also had a lousy game. And apparently his staff didn't know about the extent of his injury until afterwards.

Think that situation was also special cuz it was against the undefeated Patriots and teams were all lining up trying to be the team that beat em, leading to some unusual decision making

show me your ticks (San Te), Monday, 24 January 2011 18:25 (fifteen years ago)

we don't really know how comparable the two injuries were--just sayin that it's out there.

call all destroyer, Monday, 24 January 2011 18:28 (fifteen years ago)

When I played in high school, nobody would quit on the team, even when players got injured they would never want to sit unless the coach forced them. People would try to play through any type of injury unless they literally couldn't walk anymore. I mean we went 3-8 and 2-9 my last two years and still nobody ever quit. One guy tore his ACL and had to be in a wheelchair for a month...got crazy attention from the chicks. I guess that helps.

frogbs, Monday, 24 January 2011 18:29 (fifteen years ago)

and pretty sure a conf championship game is always "special"
