RB2: Kevin Smith @NO or Fred Jackson @NE?
YOU MAKE THE CALL

Detroit had the third-worst rushing attack in football last year, and Kevin Smith played in every game. I hear he's improved, but I'd go with Jackson.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Thursday, 10 September 2009 23:32 (fourteen years ago) link
In one league I have Michael Turner, Frank Gore, Larry Fitzgerald and Greg Jennings. Protecting all those left me without a pick 'til the 5th round. Which then left me with Ben Roethlisberger, Chad Pennington and Matt Cassel for QBs.
Fuck. I was kinda happy about that team until I just looked at that roster.
― ice cr?m paint job (milo z), Thursday, 10 September 2009 23:47 (fourteen years ago) link
Fred Jackson's O-line is even worse than Smith's. Go with the Lion.

TS: BUF's suspect O-line vs NE's suspect front 7
polyphonic, the problem with the DET rushing game wasn't Kevin Smith, it was having to give up the run after the first quarter. I'm starting the fuck out of Megatron.
milo, QBs went early in my draft too, but Roethlisberger in 5 is wild. I picked up Schaub in Round 6. also wtf you're carrying 3 QBs?

I'm starting the fuck out of Megatron.
Of course. They'll be playing from behind, and have a better QB.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Friday, 11 September 2009 00:32 (fourteen years ago) link
I don't think I took him until 9. There just weren't any decent (fantasy) QBs left at that point so I said fuck it.
Our leagues are either 17 or 18-man rosters (auction leagues require a TE), so I usually carry 3 QB, 4 RB, 5 WR, 2 K, 2 D
― ice cr?m paint job (milo z), Friday, 11 September 2009 00:32 (fourteen years ago) link
Ok, so I need some advice. My current team:
QB: Donovan McNabb, Kyle OrtonRB: Chris Johnson, Brian Westbrook, Fred Jackson, Tim Hightower, Jonathan Stewart, Cadillac Williams, and Chris BrownWR: Terrel Owens, T.J. Housh, and Devin HesterTE: Chris Cooley
My league is 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 FLEX, PPR.
At the moment, I've got a surplus of talented RB's. Chris Johnson + Brian Westbrook, unless something goes horribly wrong, will presumably always be starting at the RB position, which means I've got 3 producing RB's competing for the flex. I feel like my WR corps are a bit low, especially considering it's a PPR. So I'm thinking it might be worthwhile trading two of my excess RB's (Maybe Hightower on this huge week - 25 points - that he may not reproduce, with Fred Jackson - who also had a great week, 25 points - but won't be producing two weeks from now) for a first-string WR. Any ideas on who I should target?
Any opinions on who of these guys just had fluke weeks and who I should keep around? My bench scored 86 points this week (my starters only scored 122), so I think I'm in a strong position, but I've really got no idea how to put it together from here.

Btw, lol at that gif challops. Fred Jackson ended up scoring 25 points for me. :P

Look at some of the Colts wr's if Gonzalez's injury benches him for a while. That dude they got out of BYU looked alright last weekend. If you're looking to trade out for someone who's already taken, try Vincent Jackson. He's still under the radar with most people and the person in your league might be a gullible owner.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:17 (fourteen years ago) link
What's the chance Tim Hightower keeps producing big games? (If he keeps getting receptions, he'll be huge in my PPR league.)
― Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:18 (fourteen years ago) link
His qb is Warner. He WILL get receptions.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:23 (fourteen years ago) link
That dude they got out of BYU looked alright last weekend.
Scratch that. My memory was playing tricks on me, because he only had 15 yards.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:24 (fourteen years ago) link
What do you guys think about offering Fred Jackson (and maybe T.O.?) for Steve Smith? Smith had a bad week with Delhomme sucking it up, but he's gotta be due for an up-and-coming, and the guy who owns him got slaughtered. He might look at Fred Jackson's RB numbers and hit confirm immediately.
(Just wanna make sure I'm not screwing myself trading Jackson with some up-value for Smith if Delhomme really does just disintegrate this season.)
― Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:26 (fourteen years ago) link
Panthers are about to take on A.J. Feely at qb, so either Jake will start feeling pressure and step up or he will implode and Feely will come in and throw bombs to Steve Smith. I see some upside, but I wouldn't work too hard for it.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:29 (fourteen years ago) link
Alright. Hopefully he takes Fred Jackson for Steve Smith. Would be a nice coup.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:30 (fourteen years ago) link
Also, since it's ppr, you might want to think about going for Whitten and put him in your flex spot (if you can put a TE in there). He and Romo are in love.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:31 (fourteen years ago) link
Flex is just RB/WR, and no way I can pull Witten. He's on a Cowboy-stan's team.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:32 (fourteen years ago) link
There is such a dearth of QBs in my 2QBs-per-start, point-per-completion money league that my backups are Jeff Garcia and Mark Bulger. Which one do I start? I had McNabb, but he got hurt.
― Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 10:35 (fourteen years ago) link
Tim Hightower will keep putting up those numbers with any QB if Ds continue to focus on not getting burned deep. Same with Fred Jackson for the next couple.

I still have the problem of too many players and not enough slots. T.O., T.J. Housh, Brian Westbrook, Chris Johnson, Devin Hester, Fred Jackson, Tim Hightower, and Cadillac Williams. I hate trying to figure out who to start and sit -- I always end up leaving a ton of points on the bench.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:39 (fourteen years ago) link

― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:43 (fourteen years ago) link
Some people don't have that problem! Last season I seriously left more points on the bench than any other team in my league. And this weak, I left 84 points on the bench and the next higher was 51.

Yeah, he'll run his ass off until he blows another knee out. No, he doesn't have a third knee, but he'll find one and blow it out.

I really need to package Jackson and Bush for a decent WR. Unless Cutler learns how to throw, in which case Olsen might not be completely useless.

Guys, ESPN is predicting Westbrook does 8 points and that Tim Hightower does 22. Westbrook just did 16 + 10, and Hightower did 25 and 18. I'm already starting Chris Johnson (obv. lol) and Fred Jackson at Flex (might as well use him before he's all used up). Can I really possibly start Hightower over Westbrook???
