otto midnight (otto midnight), Monday, 23 October 2006 18:45 (nineteen years ago)

GOOD NEWS: I played the best player in each position. Hit the OPTIMAL LINEUP button and nothing happened. Whew.

BAD NEWS: Team only scored 107 pts.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Monday, 23 October 2006 18:53 (nineteen years ago)

jeez the raiders are dumb. they should have received something for him, but no, they trade doug gabriel.

gear (gear), Monday, 23 October 2006 19:06 (nineteen years ago)

That fucking 62 yard field goal booted me out of my survival league.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Monday, 23 October 2006 20:50 (nineteen years ago)

allyzay you should drop jerry porter, ffs

:( for who!

Any active wideout is a better prospect than an inactive one.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Monday, 23 October 2006 21:53 (nineteen years ago)

The Raiders can't trade him and they're not going to drop him, so I agree with Mr. Fever.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Monday, 23 October 2006 22:07 (nineteen years ago)

Leee, if'n you want a QB next week, may want to grab Romo up. He might not be super, but at least he's (probably) playing.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Tuesday, 24 October 2006 02:42 (nineteen years ago)

Motherfucker. Motherfucker. Motherfucker.
I hate that guy.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 24 October 2006 03:03 (nineteen years ago)

So WTF, Porter is reactivated?

Even more WTF than that, the Raiders are winning now?!

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Monday, 30 October 2006 20:17 (nineteen years ago)

uh yeah. thanks for the advice, guys.

Allyzay Eisenschefter (allyzay), Monday, 30 October 2006 20:18 (nineteen years ago)

gear (gear), Monday, 30 October 2006 20:26 (nineteen years ago)

That was pretty unexpected!

polyphonic (polyphonic), Monday, 30 October 2006 23:01 (nineteen years ago)

So I am in a shallow league, and my running backs are Edge, McGahee, Leon Washington and Ahman Green. Would you drop any of the four to pick up Wali Lundy?

polyphonic (polyphonic), Saturday, 4 November 2006 01:08 (nineteen years ago)

no but i might try to trade one of them for a position player in a spot where you're deficient and then maybe pick up lundy

gear (gear), Saturday, 4 November 2006 01:21 (nineteen years ago)

tatum bell, mike bell, lawrence mulroney or should i drop one of them and pick lundy up?

t0dd swiss (immobilisme), Saturday, 4 November 2006 19:09 (nineteen years ago)

Not this week. The Texans are playing the Giants, so I doubt Lundy's gonna have a record-setting day of any kind.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Saturday, 4 November 2006 22:15 (nineteen years ago)

t0dd, drop whatever bell is hurt. i'm f'd in the a this week i can tell you that.

otto midnight (otto midnight), Sunday, 5 November 2006 02:46 (nineteen years ago)

Tatum bell is hurt; he'll likely still play, but he'll split carries.
Hard to tell how bad off he is.

Forksclovetofu (Forksclovetofu), Sunday, 5 November 2006 03:14 (nineteen years ago)

two years pass...

RB2: Kevin Smith @NO or Fred Jackson @NE?

YOU MAKE THE CALL

all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Thursday, 10 September 2009 23:17 (sixteen years ago)

Detroit had the third-worst rushing attack in football last year, and Kevin Smith played in every game. I hear he's improved, but I'd go with Jackson.

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Thursday, 10 September 2009 23:32 (sixteen years ago)

In one league I have Michael Turner, Frank Gore, Larry Fitzgerald and Greg Jennings. Protecting all those left me without a pick 'til the 5th round. Which then left me with Ben Roethlisberger, Chad Pennington and Matt Cassel for QBs.

Fuck. I was kinda happy about that team until I just looked at that roster.

ice cr?m paint job (milo z), Thursday, 10 September 2009 23:47 (sixteen years ago)

Fred Jackson's O-line is even worse than Smith's. Go with the Lion.

ice cr?m paint job (milo z), Thursday, 10 September 2009 23:48 (sixteen years ago)

TS: BUF's suspect O-line vs NE's suspect front 7

polyphonic, the problem with the DET rushing game wasn't Kevin Smith, it was having to give up the run after the first quarter. I'm starting the fuck out of Megatron.

milo, QBs went early in my draft too, but Roethlisberger in 5 is wild. I picked up Schaub in Round 6. also wtf you're carrying 3 QBs?

I'm starting the fuck out of Megatron.

Of course. They'll be playing from behind, and have a better QB.

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Friday, 11 September 2009 00:32 (sixteen years ago)

I don't think I took him until 9. There just weren't any decent (fantasy) QBs left at that point so I said fuck it.

Our leagues are either 17 or 18-man rosters (auction leagues require a TE), so I usually carry 3 QB, 4 RB, 5 WR, 2 K, 2 D

ice cr?m paint job (milo z), Friday, 11 September 2009 00:32 (sixteen years ago)

Ok, so I need some advice. My current team:

QB: Donovan McNabb, Kyle Orton
RB: Chris Johnson, Brian Westbrook, Fred Jackson, Tim Hightower, Jonathan Stewart, Cadillac Williams, and Chris Brown
WR: Terrel Owens, T.J. Housh, and Devin Hester
TE: Chris Cooley

My league is 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 FLEX, PPR.

At the moment, I've got a surplus of talented RB's. Chris Johnson + Brian Westbrook, unless something goes horribly wrong, will presumably always be starting at the RB position, which means I've got 3 producing RB's competing for the flex. I feel like my WR corps are a bit low, especially considering it's a PPR. So I'm thinking it might be worthwhile trading two of my excess RB's (Maybe Hightower on this huge week - 25 points - that he may not reproduce, with Fred Jackson - who also had a great week, 25 points - but won't be producing two weeks from now) for a first-string WR. Any ideas on who I should target?

Any opinions on who of these guys just had fluke weeks and who I should keep around? My bench scored 86 points this week (my starters only scored 122), so I think I'm in a strong position, but I've really got no idea how to put it together from here.

Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:08 (sixteen years ago)

Btw, lol at that gif challops. Fred Jackson ended up scoring 25 points for me. :P

Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:09 (sixteen years ago)

Look at some of the Colts wr's if Gonzalez's injury benches him for a while. That dude they got out of BYU looked alright last weekend. If you're looking to trade out for someone who's already taken, try Vincent Jackson. He's still under the radar with most people and the person in your league might be a gullible owner.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:17 (sixteen years ago)

What's the chance Tim Hightower keeps producing big games? (If he keeps getting receptions, he'll be huge in my PPR league.)

Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:18 (sixteen years ago)

His qb is Warner. He WILL get receptions.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:23 (sixteen years ago)

That dude they got out of BYU looked alright last weekend.

Scratch that. My memory was playing tricks on me, because he only had 15 yards.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:24 (sixteen years ago)

What do you guys think about offering Fred Jackson (and maybe T.O.?) for Steve Smith? Smith had a bad week with Delhomme sucking it up, but he's gotta be due for an up-and-coming, and the guy who owns him got slaughtered. He might look at Fred Jackson's RB numbers and hit confirm immediately.

(Just wanna make sure I'm not screwing myself trading Jackson with some up-value for Smith if Delhomme really does just disintegrate this season.)

Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:26 (sixteen years ago)

Panthers are about to take on A.J. Feely at qb, so either Jake will start feeling pressure and step up or he will implode and Feely will come in and throw bombs to Steve Smith. I see some upside, but I wouldn't work too hard for it.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:29 (sixteen years ago)

Alright. Hopefully he takes Fred Jackson for Steve Smith. Would be a nice coup.

Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:30 (sixteen years ago)

Also, since it's ppr, you might want to think about going for Whitten and put him in your flex spot (if you can put a TE in there). He and Romo are in love.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:31 (sixteen years ago)

Flex is just RB/WR, and no way I can pull Witten. He's on a Cowboy-stan's team.

Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 06:32 (sixteen years ago)

There is such a dearth of QBs in my 2QBs-per-start, point-per-completion money league that my backups are Jeff Garcia and Mark Bulger. Which one do I start? I had McNabb, but he got hurt.

Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 10:35 (sixteen years ago)

Tim Hightower will keep putting up those numbers with any QB if Ds continue to focus on not getting burned deep. Same with Fred Jackson for the next couple.

all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:32 (sixteen years ago)

I still have the problem of too many players and not enough slots. T.O., T.J. Housh, Brian Westbrook, Chris Johnson, Devin Hester, Fred Jackson, Tim Hightower, and Cadillac Williams. I hate trying to figure out who to start and sit -- I always end up leaving a ton of points on the bench.

Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:39 (sixteen years ago)

I always end up leaving a ton of points on the bench.

Welcome to the thrilling and disappointing world of Fantasy Football!

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:43 (sixteen years ago)

Some people don't have that problem! Last season I seriously left more points on the bench than any other team in my league. And this weak, I left 84 points on the bench and the next higher was 51.

Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:43 (sixteen years ago)

This week*

Mordy, Tuesday, 15 September 2009 16:43 (sixteen years ago)

I'm sitting on Gonzo and working in Isaac Bruce and or Devery Henderson if I can pick him up off the wire. I think I may have a problem.
Dump gonzo?

cadillac williams will braek heart all time

Yeah, he'll run his ass off until he blows another knee out. No, he doesn't have a third knee, but he'll find one and blow it out.

kevin smith (v. min)
v.
darren sproles (v. balt)

25y/1 punt return league which makes sproles more valuable than otherwise...still, untested as a starter and v. the ravens? tell me I'm making the right decision w/ playing him.

iatee, Saturday, 19 September 2009 06:52 (sixteen years ago)

Sproles might not return kicks tomorrow since he's the featured back, fyi.

Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Saturday, 19 September 2009 20:03 (sixteen years ago)

one team's RBs:
Michael Turner
Brian Westbrook
Ray Rice
Fred Jackson
Michael Bush

same team's WRs
Colston
TO
Britt
Greg Olsen
Fasano
Kevin Walter

I really need to package Jackson and Bush for a decent WR. Unless Cutler learns how to throw, in which case Olsen might not be completely useless.
