I'm feeling Slaton is due for a big game.
My turn:Cadillac Williams vs. New England, Jonathan Stewart vs. Buffalo, or Fred Jackson vs. Carolina? OPO
― Mordy, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 19:53 (sixteen years ago)
i'd go stewart
― suggest friend (hmmmm), Tuesday, 20 October 2009 20:10 (sixteen years ago)
yeah running on buffalo is something that should work--their front is so small and carolina's still a good running team.

i just want you all to think about how bad each of these 11 teams is, btw

wrong thread
I have Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger in my money league. Should I try and get a #2 WR (which I desperately need. I've been going with Torry Holt and Hakeem Nicks all season) for Big Ben? Or is the possibility of injury to my boy Brees too great?
― Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 21:13 (sixteen years ago)
I'd def trade Ben away for a #2 WR. First of all, the difference between QB's isn't too high, unless you're maybe talking about the top 1-3 (of whom you've already got one). Hell, I'd trade Brees AND Ben for someone like Orton and grab some superplayers. Top ranked QB's are for chumps.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 21:32 (sixteen years ago)
Trade Big Ben for a #2 receiver + a lesser backup QB
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 20 October 2009 21:37 (sixteen years ago)
no no, do not trade brees. if you've got a dude who could throw for 40 tds, you keep him imo. maybe you trade him away for an underrated mostly-sure thing like schaub + another first round level guy, but otherwise no.
― access flap (omar little), Tuesday, 20 October 2009 21:57 (sixteen years ago)
The problem with trading Roethlisberger is here's the highest-ranking free agent quarterbacks in my league: Trent Edwards, Kevin Kolb, Seneca Wallace, Matthew Stafford, Byron Leftwich, Josh Johnson. So if I lose Brees for the year I am absolutely fucked.
― Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 21 October 2009 00:25 (sixteen years ago)
who's the saints backup qb? it's a good system, i imagine whoever is behind him would be at least decent.
― access flap (omar little), Wednesday, 21 October 2009 00:49 (sixteen years ago)
Mark Brunell
― Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 21 October 2009 00:56 (sixteen years ago)
This is why I advocate doing a 2 for 1.

Battle of the Williams:
Ricky Williams at Jets or DeAngelo Williams at Cards?I'm leaning toward Ricky.
Also, would you take LDT and Mario Manningham for Deangelo? I also have Benson, Slaton and Ricky in a 2RB league, soooo....
― I AM NOT ONE TO PURSUE GAME, MY FRIEND - NO, INDEED. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 28 October 2009 14:40 (sixteen years ago)
I'd go with Ricky, because the Dolphins burned the Jets on the ground last game, and the Giants had shit for ground yards against the Redbirds on Sunday.
Benson will be steady production all season (barring injury), and you can alternate Slaton and Ricky based on matchups. Is someone trying to trade you LDT and Manningham or are you trying to deal them yourself? If you have Deangelo already, keep him.
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 28 October 2009 14:47 (sixteen years ago)
they're trying to trade for Dangelo. I'm loaded at RB; WR is Vincent Jackson, Johnny Knox, Sidney Rice and Andre Caldwell, which in a 3 WR league is kinda thin... would prefer to deal one top 20 RB for one top 20 WR, but no one is buying. Manningham is meant to answer that but feast or famine Eli has me doubting him.
― I AM NOT ONE TO PURSUE GAME, MY FRIEND - NO, INDEED. (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 28 October 2009 15:13 (sixteen years ago)
Dunno I feel about Manningham now that Nicks is back.
― all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Wednesday, 28 October 2009 17:45 (sixteen years ago)
(dunno HOW I feel)
i'm going ricky by same reasoning. Little nervous DeAngelo has a blowout game and I end up a schmuck.
― I AM NOT ONE TO PURSUE GAME, MY FRIEND - NO, INDEED. (forksclovetofu), Friday, 30 October 2009 04:20 (sixteen years ago)
in the problems you dont mind having category - start 3 of the following:
Slatonricky williamsaddaithomas jones
― johnny crunch, Friday, 30 October 2009 12:16 (sixteen years ago)
i'd leave out addai, personally.
― I AM NOT ONE TO PURSUE GAME, MY FRIEND - NO, INDEED. (forksclovetofu), Friday, 30 October 2009 13:47 (sixteen years ago)
it's tuff tho, last stuff i read (a day or 2 ago) said donald brown would be out this wk
― johnny crunch, Friday, 30 October 2009 14:00 (sixteen years ago)
Guys, my season is kinda fucked. Cooley is out for the season, Westbrook has suffered a concussion, T.O. was never a good WR pick...
― Mordy, Friday, 30 October 2009 19:29 (sixteen years ago)
I am starting slaton/ricky/forte. slaton and forte are both vs terrible run D's.
xpost those are good picks for 2007
― bnw, Friday, 30 October 2009 19:33 (sixteen years ago)
I'm currently winning 127 to 111. He still has Brees and Saints D to play, I still have Devery Henderson. Any chance I win this one?
― Mordy, Monday, 2 November 2009 19:54 (sixteen years ago)
no.
― I AM NOT ONE TO PURSUE GAME, MY FRIEND - NO, INDEED. (forksclovetofu), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:54 (sixteen years ago)
if brees tosses a couple TDs to devery, you might be in luck. however devery is feast or famine and he's just as likely to score 2 pts as he is 20. i do not, i hate to admit, like your chances.
― jØrdån (omar little), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:55 (sixteen years ago)
i hate to admit it because i'm counting on devery (and curtis lofton) in ilnfl to not only make up 11 pts in deficit but to also score enough pts to cancel out any additional pts michael turner might score. i'm screwed tbqf.
― jØrdån (omar little), Monday, 2 November 2009 19:57 (sixteen years ago)
Shockey's been stealing WR touchdowns of late, so yeah... echoing the above negative sentiments.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 2 November 2009 19:58 (sixteen years ago)
I'd give you a 20% chance...the saints would have to have a horrible, horrible game *and* devery would have to do pretty well at the same time.
― iatee, Monday, 2 November 2009 20:00 (sixteen years ago)
If LeSean McCoy hadn't broken off that big one at the end of the Iggles game, I'd be more like 30 points up. Much more comfortable margin. But I can't exactly be angry for the Iggles kicking ass, right?
― Mordy, Monday, 2 November 2009 20:03 (sixteen years ago)
Ricky williams(me) for Antonio Gates (him) when I have Benson and Deangelo Williams at RB is a good call, right?
― you get ribbons when you're in 4H (forksclovetofu), Monday, 9 November 2009 14:05 (sixteen years ago)
i say yes
― all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Monday, 9 November 2009 15:15 (sixteen years ago)
i did too; NOW he wants to do Matt Ryan, DeAngelo and Ricky Williams for Gates and Peyton.I don't think i dare to eat this peach
― because she looks awesome, like in the face (forksclovetofu), Monday, 9 November 2009 18:57 (sixteen years ago)
Don't get rid of DeAngelo in any trade.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 9 November 2009 19:11 (sixteen years ago)
NOW he's grasping. pass.
― all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Monday, 9 November 2009 19:12 (sixteen years ago)
three weeks ago i would've been all over it.
― because she looks awesome, like in the face (forksclovetofu), Monday, 9 November 2009 19:17 (sixteen years ago)
Okay, tough one here and it's important cuz if i win i'm in the playoffs:Pick two - Cedric Benson OR Larry Johnson vs Detroit, Deangelo Williams vs Tampa Bay and Steve Slaton vs Jacksonville.
I'm leaning to Slaton and Williams because of weird injuries and timesharing but DETROIT
― Drama Mama's and Papa's too! (forksclovetofu), Wednesday, 2 December 2009 23:51 (sixteen years ago)
i'd go benson and williams, but keep your eye on the gameday news w/r/t the cincy backfield. they're saying he will start, though.

as of today, looks like worst case scenario may be LJ stealin' mop-up carries
― all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Thursday, 3 December 2009 22:25 (sixteen years ago)
yeah, see if i field him and LJ vultures two or three touchdowns and i end up with an 8pt day ahma be FURIOUS
― Drama Mama's and Papa's too! (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 3 December 2009 22:25 (sixteen years ago)
btw I feel u - I'm choosing between Benson, Ricky Williams, Forte @STL, and Kevin Smith
― all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Thursday, 3 December 2009 22:26 (sixteen years ago)
that's tuff! i think Forte is a must, but I dunno about the rest.
― Drama Mama's and Papa's too! (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 3 December 2009 22:33 (sixteen years ago)
yeah tuff choices forte could easily go off for 28 yards on the ground and another 37 through the air!
― all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Friday, 4 December 2009 00:09 (sixteen years ago)
also fred jackson and jamaal charles are mysteriously still avail in my league
really tempted to bench forte for jackson but the rams defense is too appealing
― bnw, Friday, 4 December 2009 00:17 (sixteen years ago)
get jamaal stat
― omar little, Friday, 4 December 2009 00:18 (sixteen years ago)
