What is the QB scoring in your league? RB scoring?
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 6 October 2009 17:06 (sixteen years ago)
6pt for touchdowns for either.5 receptions.5 completed pass-.5 incomplete pass30 yd passing or 15 yd rushing = 1pt.-2 for fumbles or interceptionno bonuses for long games1 qb, 3 wr, 2 rb
― forksclovetofu, Tuesday, 6 October 2009 17:16 (sixteen years ago)
i suppose i could offer him ryan and ricky williams and see, but that's kind of insulting. Dude is 1 and 3 and clearly needs a change. His starting RBs are Leon Washington and Tashard Choice.
― forksclovetofu, Tuesday, 6 October 2009 17:22 (sixteen years ago)
Maybe throw in a third player. I don't think I'd do that trade with Williams + Ryan either.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 6 October 2009 17:34 (sixteen years ago)
hm, now that i'm looking at his lineup, he's also got westbrook and felix jones. He's gonna need solid red meat to make it work. I think i'm okay doing it with williams and ryan; I love ryan but peyton's looking at a career year and the carolina offense has looked piss poor thus far. Benson and Slaton look okay to me and Williams is a reasonable backup.
Am i foolin' myself?
― forksclovetofu, Tuesday, 6 October 2009 17:39 (sixteen years ago)
yes
― iatee, Tuesday, 6 October 2009 18:13 (sixteen years ago)
I mean, manning is possibly the most reliable fantasy player of all time and he's already having a great year - deangelo and ryan are young guys who aren't really looking like top 5 rb/qbs. it would be a big risk on his part.
maybe it's just me, but if I had manning right now, someone would have to offer me something absurd to pry him out of my hands
― iatee, Tuesday, 6 October 2009 18:31 (sixteen years ago)
i don't think he'd go for it because matt ryan strikes me (and probably most other fantasy playas) as a very good real life qb, still an unknown fantasy quantity whose current peak value is closer to a good game manager who will toss 20 TDs rather than an elite guy who will go off for 35-40 TDs. deangelo williams is good but his team sucks and he's not gonna run for 20 TDs again. i say this as a guy who drafted him #1 this year in the ilx league. : /
― omar little, Tuesday, 6 October 2009 18:37 (sixteen years ago)
okay, offer made. will report back, but i think you guys are likely right.
― forksclovetofu, Tuesday, 6 October 2009 18:40 (sixteen years ago)
fwiw 13 of deangelo's 2008 TDs came after week 12

Guy in my league is interested in TJ Housh, Devin Hester and/or Brian Westbrook. He's got Portis, Thomas Jones, Ahmad Bradshew, Nate Washington, Mike Sims-Walker, Vernon Davis, Drew Brees, Mark Sanchez, Ryan Grant, Dwayne Bowe, Jerrico Cotchery, and Leon Washington. My team hasn't changed since I posted it above. Anyone have any ideas for some decent trades with this?
― Mordy, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 00:19 (sixteen years ago)
who's your qb?
― iatee, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 00:27 (sixteen years ago)
I've got Kyle Orton + McNabb at QB.
― Mordy, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 00:29 (sixteen years ago)
panters didn't suck as bad too tho
mordy, I'm thinking unless he's willing to include brees in some massive trade, you shouldn't have westbrook on the table, I don't see anything there that would be worth it. maybe see if he'll go for housh and hester for bowe and cotchery? a total rip-off, but if he wants those guys, might as well try and rip him off.
― iatee, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 00:45 (sixteen years ago)
okay folks, pick two to keep as bench players and this week fill-ins: Kenny Britt, Mohammad Massaquoi and Sidney Rice.
― forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 16:48 (sixteen years ago)
I think Minnesota is going to be running the ball a lot against St. Louis, whereas Tennessee is going to be passing a lot against Indy. Buffalo/Cleveland might be a close game and could be a low-scoring grinder.
Kenny Britt is seemingly the #1 guy, and Collins can definitely get the ball to him. Massaquoi is a #1, but maybe he'll start getting covered more now that Braylon is gone. Rice doesn't seem like he's going to be more than a third option, but the Vikings score a lot.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Wednesday, 7 October 2009 17:11 (sixteen years ago)
I kinda agree? Britt feels like a long term keeper and Massaquoi looks good for this week against the Bills but Rice is getting better each game.I think I'm letting Mohammad go to the mountain.
― forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 17:13 (sixteen years ago)
It's never a bad idea to bet against a rookie receiver on a bad offensive team. At least Tennessee can move the ball.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Wednesday, 7 October 2009 17:16 (sixteen years ago)
I also love to have a tennessee player on my team and, unless it's Chris Henry, there's not a lot of offensive love to be had there just now.
― forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 17:23 (sixteen years ago)
Unstoppable Eli vs the return of Donovan??? both seem like sweet matchups
― bnw, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 22:48 (sixteen years ago)
Is Eli playing, given his injury?
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Wednesday, 7 October 2009 22:56 (sixteen years ago)
:o good call, he didn't practice
― bnw, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 22:58 (sixteen years ago)
I believe David Carr is absolutely capable of losing to the Raiders.
― Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 23:01 (sixteen years ago)
That would be so hilarious.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Wednesday, 7 October 2009 23:04 (sixteen years ago)
McNabb or Kyle Orton?
― Mordy, Wednesday, 7 October 2009 23:24 (sixteen years ago)
Denver @ New England, Philly @ Bucs

i an dead last in ilx league so do the opposite
I would play kevin smith, partly cause I have him and everytime I don't play him I regret it. and I'm not playing him, so he's gonna do well.

I've got the #2 waiver spot this week. Think I should drop Jabar Gaffney for Miles Austin?
― Mordy, Tuesday, 13 October 2009 21:55 (sixteen years ago)
Note: Lance Moore is also available. Maybe I should grab him before I take Austin?
― Mordy, Tuesday, 13 October 2009 22:05 (sixteen years ago)
I certainly would get rid of Gaffney either way.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 13 October 2009 22:32 (sixteen years ago)
btw thanks for the advice guys - went with Benson and Smith but it turned out to be moot as I ended up with 2.3 points from my WR1/WR2/WR3 combined. LOL.
― all yoga attacks are fire based (rogermexico.), Tuesday, 13 October 2009 22:38 (sixteen years ago)
So Moore or Austin?
― Mordy, Tuesday, 13 October 2009 23:30 (sixteen years ago)
Lance Moore imo. Austin might be the Massaquoi of Week 5, and Brees is a better qb.
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 13 October 2009 23:36 (sixteen years ago)
good call on moore
Cedric Benson vs. Chicago or Steve Slaton vs Niners? OPO
― Does the hole come standard or did you have to special order it (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 20 October 2009 19:51 (sixteen years ago)
I'm feeling Slaton is due for a big game.
My turn:Cadillac Williams vs. New England, Jonathan Stewart vs. Buffalo, or Fred Jackson vs. Carolina? OPO
― Mordy, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 19:53 (sixteen years ago)
i'd go stewart
― suggest friend (hmmmm), Tuesday, 20 October 2009 20:10 (sixteen years ago)
yeah running on buffalo is something that should work--their front is so small and carolina's still a good running team.

wrong thread
I have Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger in my money league. Should I try and get a #2 WR (which I desperately need. I've been going with Torry Holt and Hakeem Nicks all season) for Big Ben? Or is the possibility of injury to my boy Brees too great?
― Mr. Snrub, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 21:13 (sixteen years ago)
I'd def trade Ben away for a #2 WR. First of all, the difference between QB's isn't too high, unless you're maybe talking about the top 1-3 (of whom you've already got one). Hell, I'd trade Brees AND Ben for someone like Orton and grab some superplayers. Top ranked QB's are for chumps.
― Mordy, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 21:32 (sixteen years ago)
Trade Big Ben for a #2 receiver + a lesser backup QB
― Your heartbeat soun like sasquatch feet (polyphonic), Tuesday, 20 October 2009 21:37 (sixteen years ago)
no no, do not trade brees. if you've got a dude who could throw for 40 tds, you keep him imo. maybe you trade him away for an underrated mostly-sure thing like schaub + another first round level guy, but otherwise no.
― access flap (omar little), Tuesday, 20 October 2009 21:57 (sixteen years ago)
The problem with trading Roethlisberger is here's the highest-ranking free agent quarterbacks in my league: Trent Edwards, Kevin Kolb, Seneca Wallace, Matthew Stafford, Byron Leftwich, Josh Johnson. So if I lose Brees for the year I am absolutely fucked.
