Haha that 4th quarter was exactly what you'd expect from this Knicks team.

Lance was incredible to watch, that up and under with the lefty scoop brought a tear to my eye.

Hoping for Pacers/Grizz final

Spottie_Ottie_Dope, Sunday, 19 May 2013 05:24 (ten years ago) link

Lance looking very pitbull that whole game; not sure if he made one shot that didn't include some heavy contact. It's been so awesome to watch his development vis-a-vis team basketball. He spent the whole season sublimated within an offensive framework for probably the first time in his life, playing as the 5th option more or less in that starting lineup, and handled it pretty zenlike. Heh, I really believe that his rebounding rates have gone up this year just because he wasn't really allowed to expend energy doing much else but defense / boards, so sometimes he can look like a kid just let out for recess, wilin out. Tonight, I can't remember any ill-advised drives. One major point that bears repeating from that big Lance profile from a few weeks ago is that, up through college, his game was built around being the strongest/most athletic guy in the gym. The only time that stuff really pops up anymore is when he starts out on the break and just fucking blasts off. <3 u Lance, and <3 u Larry for being the only reason the Pacers signed him. (Larry's Indy legacy looking pretty good right now: drafted Hibs/PG/Lance, signed West, traded for Hill)

The only thing better than Knicks losing tonight is looking at Knicks roster and knowing they're basically stuck with it through next season

Hahaha, speaking of Lance/Larry, happy to see Lance give him the GOD treatment:

Lance Stephenson ‏@StephensonLance 2h
I'm so blessed I want to thanks GOD,my family, my kids, my team, LARRY BIRD, pacers fans and everyone that believed in me. Thanks

Really happy a couple ilxors still have horses in the running this deep! (not including jordan in that b/c lol.) I kinda checked out on this round except for the early spurs vs warriors games, before the writing was on the wall. Will def be watching for the griz, but not sure how much Indy/Miami I can take. Anyways congrats to bise and compupost!

Clay, Sunday, 19 May 2013 08:36 (ten years ago) link

also since ILH is my bl°g, I'm thinking of moving from Portland to LA because why the f not. Any of you boys wanna tell me why that is a great and/or terrible idea, feel free to chime in. P.S. I am broke so the whole thing might be extremely hilarious.

"He believed in me," Stephenson told Y! Sports. "He gave me the confidence that I could play in the league. Larry is a legend, and when he tells you that you can do this, and do that, it just boosts your confidence, makes you feel like no one can stop you."

As he headed to the postgame news conference, Stephenson forgot to put on his pants and nearly walked onto the stage in a shirt and underwear. Longtime Pacers PR man David Benner re-directed him to an equipment room so he could get a pair of shorts.

Could never rep LA over Portland but it pains me to admit I have a great time whenever I go out to LA, even w/o a car. Just remember that every1 in LA is a celeb but you have to start as H List and start working your way up.

ヽ(´ー`)┌ (CompuPost), Sunday, 19 May 2013 15:19 (ten years ago) link

clay la is dope if you like 72 and sunny all day every day then do it do it

portland is cool as hell every time i've visited too of course

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Sunday, 19 May 2013 16:11 (ten years ago) link

lmk if you want real advice i lived there a long time

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Sunday, 19 May 2013 16:12 (ten years ago) link

i forgot until i looked them up that paul george and lance stephenson were in the same draft

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Sunday, 19 May 2013 16:14 (ten years ago) link

presti's gotta amnesty perk right? he had a negative per! negative! you only really want him now to guard maybe three guys, one of them being marc gasol (or zbo) and he just proved he can't do that anymore. don't you just roll the dice by drafting a couple of big men and/or sign a couple of the jason collins types who are always floating around if you feel you really need a backup true center? the spurs got by on spare parts centers for ten years basically

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Sunday, 19 May 2013 16:17 (ten years ago) link

obv they really played timmy at center about fifty percent of the time but point is there's always a rasho nesterovic around for a third of what perk will make

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Sunday, 19 May 2013 16:17 (ten years ago) link

Rasho made a lot of money!

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 19 May 2013 16:24 (ten years ago) link

ha i guess he did! i assumed he didnt but bigs do always get overpaid. i guess i should check everything i assert on basketball-reference first

joe smith avatar (agent hibachi), Sunday, 19 May 2013 16:33 (ten years ago) link

I visited LA for the first time last month and except for the weather and the few ilxors I met I didn't like it at all. Loved Portland when I was there a few years ago.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 19 May 2013 17:51 (ten years ago) link

Presti will not amnesty Perkins, because if he did Perkins would scowl at him.

Aimless, Sunday, 19 May 2013 18:29 (ten years ago) link

"the Knicks, who most of us thought were built to challenge the Heat, now are out of the playoffs" -Mike Wilbon

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 19 May 2013 19:06 (ten years ago) link

wilbon somehow turned into one of the dumbest people on tv, i don't get it

J0rdan S., Sunday, 19 May 2013 19:17 (ten years ago) link

zach lowe saying on twitter today that the 2 seed winning six games in the playoffs isn't a failure was pretty dumb tho too

J0rdan S., Sunday, 19 May 2013 19:18 (ten years ago) link

weren't you arguing a few weeks ago that the knicks 2 seed should come w/ a heavy asterisk because so many other players in the east are injured

乒乓, Sunday, 19 May 2013 19:20 (ten years ago) link

it should come with an asterisk because it's the East

Matt Armstrong, Sunday, 19 May 2013 19:22 (ten years ago) link

― 乒乓, Sunday, May 19, 2013 3:20 PM (3 minutes ago) Bookmark

how does this not strengthen the argument that it's a failure that they got the 2 seed and only won 6 total games

J0rdan S., Sunday, 19 May 2013 19:24 (ten years ago) link

well you could infer the opposite which is that they're really more like a 5 or 6 seed who happened to get #2, and therefore weren't really gonna win that many games anyway

乒乓, Sunday, 19 May 2013 19:25 (ten years ago) link

I don't see how the amount of games won is a particularly good indicator of anything. I mean would the point be moot had they won 7?

Studied keyboard mash (tsrobodo), Sunday, 19 May 2013 19:27 (ten years ago) link

remember when rick reilly said memphis couldn't win in the playoffs because Z-Bo was a "punk"
