This made me chuckle:

Zach Harper ‏@talkhoops

Knicks draft George Papadopolous. Strengths: Raised Webster. Good leader. Weaknesses: Knicks fans hate him.

Damn I had totally forgot about robbie hummel!

spurs select Marcus Denmon of mizzou
college hoops dudes...can he make the team?

he bit me (it felt like a diss) (m bison), Friday, 29 June 2012 03:57 (eleven years ago) link

portland got a nice 2nd rnd pick

Moreno, Friday, 29 June 2012 04:01 (eleven years ago) link

yeah that guy sounds like he could be a contributor.

Clay, Friday, 29 June 2012 04:10 (eleven years ago) link

Hate: Cavs
Love: Nuggets

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 29 June 2012 04:50 (eleven years ago) link

trading moultrie for a future first was a weird move by the Heat. If a team ever needed help NOW, it's them.

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 29 June 2012 04:52 (eleven years ago) link

Ainge reveals Sullinger has a herniated disc:" Our medical staff thinks that short-term and long-term there may be some maintenance issues." about 11 minutes ago

Matt Armstrong, Friday, 29 June 2012 05:17 (eleven years ago) link

between sullinger (a guy who really knows how to play basketball) and fab (a guy who has no idea how to play basketball) the celtics drafted ppl who know an average amount about playing basketball.

call all destroyer, Friday, 29 June 2012 12:31 (eleven years ago) link

i guess they figure 1 year with kg with either break fab completely or forge him into a decent backup center.

call all destroyer, Friday, 29 June 2012 12:32 (eleven years ago) link

fab seems like the kind of guy who could break kg just by being utterly oblivious, standing there smiling sweetly while kg yells at his face

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 12:58 (eleven years ago) link

wanted them to take pj3

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 12:58 (eleven years ago) link

I did too, but an amiable Melo might be a better fit than a slack PJ3. Garnett will get annoyed with Fab, but could have murked Jones if he copped an attitude.

OF course, this all assumes KG comes back. Please come back.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 29 June 2012 13:14 (eleven years ago) link

fab is gonna suck, 7 fters who can play at all do not slip to 22

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 13:18 (eleven years ago) link

22 y/o 6 rebs a game, i mean come on

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 13:19 (eleven years ago) link

he played 25 minutes. 8 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks isn't bad. Better than what they have in the backup position now.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 29 June 2012 13:25 (eleven years ago) link

That's Perk with twice as many blocks.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 29 June 2012 13:26 (eleven years ago) link

perry jones slipping to the thunder is criminal. i can't get over this. if he can stick in the rotation it basically means they can go "small" without durant ever having to guard a 4.

an NBA team preferring arnett moultrie or moe harkless to jones is just crazy.

J0rdan S., Friday, 29 June 2012 13:58 (eleven years ago) link

melo is almost too big to fail but yeah he was hella overrated at cuse and just seems like a huge stiff. like the heat could stick haslem on him & he'd never score.

J0rdan S., Friday, 29 June 2012 13:59 (eleven years ago) link

classic late breaking injury news scenario re pj3

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 13:59 (eleven years ago) link

teams hear theres something wrong w/his knee but dont know exactly what, plus all those teams who thought they had no shot at him who made promises to other guys

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:01 (eleven years ago) link

the hear not trading back up like three spots in the second round to draft doron lamb is insane. seriously some of these teams are just... lamb will be mario chalmers in 2 years but better.

my only thought is that maybe they're confident that they're gonna get ray allen.

J0rdan S., Friday, 29 June 2012 14:01 (eleven years ago) link

if rayrays gonna go to the heat he should just sign w/okc instead, go toward the light ray

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:03 (eleven years ago) link

idk... how bad could his knee injury be? and, even if he had to miss three months, so what? it just seemed like a convenient excuse for GMs not to take him.

and the stupid thing is that it stopped being a risky pick like outside of the top 12. it's not like the guy is a two time felon or something.

J0rdan S., Friday, 29 June 2012 14:04 (eleven years ago) link

agree totally

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:04 (eleven years ago) link

but i mean how bad could his knee be is like totally fucked for life i guess, but it def seems worth the risk, unless teams had more infos than we did

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:05 (eleven years ago) link

pj3 is a classic case I think of GMs downgrading a player bcuz he's not what people thought he would or could be and in the process misevaluating his true talent.

there's no way jones is gonna have a worse career than john jenkins, joedan cunnigham or fucking MILES PLUMLEE.

J0rdan S., Friday, 29 June 2012 14:06 (eleven years ago) link

fab melo and sully.... lol

am0n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:14 (eleven years ago) link

sully prob was actually worth that pick, but fuck a fab

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:15 (eleven years ago) link

i can just tell hes gonna be so incredibly frustrating to watch

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:16 (eleven years ago) link

fabulous mellow

am0n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:16 (eleven years ago) link

ladies and gentlemen...

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:17 (eleven years ago) link

sully prob was actually worth that pick, but fuck a fab

― lag∞n, Friday, June 29, 2012 10:15 AM

reading the down the thread consensus went from "sully sux, worst athlete in the draft" to "his back is fucked but not a bad pick! ;)" explain?

am0n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:18 (eleven years ago) link

its just they got him w/a low pick, i mean hes prob top 5 in the draft as far as basketball skills, but bottom five in athleticism, also an injury risk, seems like an ok pick at 21

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:21 (eleven years ago) link

his ceiling is prob 'starter'

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:22 (eleven years ago) link

lot of people think he couldve been top five in last years draft, tho i suspect he wouldve fallen once the combine results came in

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:23 (eleven years ago) link

track record is not good apparently for ppl who are *that* unathletic. i guess he'll probably be able to score but not sure abt defense.

call all destroyer, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:30 (eleven years ago) link

yeah hes most likely a bench player, but i mean at 22, i wouldve take pj3 tho

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:32 (eleven years ago) link

and maybe he will get somewhat more athletic once he gets in better shape and his back issues are worked out, this has been known to happen

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 14:33 (eleven years ago) link

ok got it. now explain ~fab melo~

am0n, Friday, 29 June 2012 15:03 (eleven years ago) link

friendly 7ft brazilian whos barely played basketball in his life

lag∞n, Friday, 29 June 2012 15:06 (eleven years ago) link

KG has a clause in his new contract that for 7 minutes a game he gets to pretend he's not playing center.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 29 June 2012 15:06 (eleven years ago) link

lol @ windhorst covering the cavs again

i wonder if that's like when you see high school friends

J0rdan S., Friday, 29 June 2012 16:39 (eleven years ago) link

reading this article i learned that the cavs love advanced stats

moullet, Friday, 29 June 2012 16:58 (eleven years ago) link

ay m bison:

Analysis: I really like this pick for the Spurs. Denmon is the sort of efficient combo guard who could thrive in the Spurs' system. He shoots it well, defends and can even play the point in a pinch. I'm not expecting huge things from him, but could see him as a rotation player in San Antonio down the road.

J0rdan S., Friday, 29 June 2012 18:45 (eleven years ago) link

that's chad ford

J0rdan S., Friday, 29 June 2012 18:45 (eleven years ago) link

@cavsdan
I am very excited about our two picks. @dionwaiters3 and @zellertyler are going to be two great additions to the @cavs and our bright future

am0n, Friday, 29 June 2012 19:00 (eleven years ago) link

imho zeller will be solid for a long time, like ya hes not a star but 7ftrs who can actually like play basketball and move around good dont grow on trees
