between sullinger (a guy who really knows how to play basketball) and fab (a guy who has no idea how to play basketball) the celtics drafted ppl who know an average amount about playing basketball.

i guess they figure 1 year with kg with either break fab completely or forge him into a decent backup center.

fab seems like the kind of guy who could break kg just by being utterly oblivious, standing there smiling sweetly while kg yells at his face

I did too, but an amiable Melo might be a better fit than a slack PJ3. Garnett will get annoyed with Fab, but could have murked Jones if he copped an attitude.

melo is almost too big to fail but yeah he was hella overrated at cuse and just seems like a huge stiff. like the heat could stick haslem on him & he'd never score.

the hear not trading back up like three spots in the second round to draft doron lamb is insane. seriously some of these teams are just... lamb will be mario chalmers in 2 years but better.

pj3 is a classic case I think of GMs downgrading a player bcuz he's not what people thought he would or could be and in the process misevaluating his true talent.

there's no way jones is gonna have a worse career than john jenkins, joedan cunnigham or fucking MILES PLUMLEE.

reading the down the thread consensus went from "sully sux, worst athlete in the draft" to "his back is fucked but not a bad pick! ;)" explain?

its just they got him w/a low pick, i mean hes prob top 5 in the draft as far as basketball skills, but bottom five in athleticism, also an injury risk, seems like an ok pick at 21

his ceiling is prob 'starter'

lot of people think he couldve been top five in last years draft, tho i suspect he wouldve fallen once the combine results came in

track record is not good apparently for ppl who are *that* unathletic. i guess he'll probably be able to score but not sure abt defense.

yeah hes most likely a bench player, but i mean at 22, i wouldve take pj3 tho

and maybe he will get somewhat more athletic once he gets in better shape and his back issues are worked out, this has been known to happen

Analysis: I really like this pick for the Spurs. Denmon is the sort of efficient combo guard who could thrive in the Spurs' system. He shoots it well, defends and can even play the point in a pinch. I'm not expecting huge things from him, but could see him as a rotation player in San Antonio down the road.
