shit they play mich st huh -- they could lose that game, looked like mich st had the guards to play with them & if duke has a weakness it's probably inside -- marquette is getting good points down there right now

if duke has a weakness it's probably inside
meaning that draymon greene could have a big game while mich st guards play duke to about a draw

it's weird how teams just seem to routinely forget about kyle singler allowing him to just nail open threes -- they rarely even run him off screens it seems like, so i'll chalk up "invisibility" as a small skill

listening to bobby knight do color is weird, because (apart from having to hear the play-by-play man kiss his ass for two hours) he's awkward and his contempt for everyone around him is thinly veiled. but he will actually say interesting things about the game being played, sometimes things no one else would notice or mention.
the thing with vitale is that everything about the game is merely a pretext for him to start shouting acronyms (that he then explains) or go off on one of his standard digressions (robert montgomery knight, jimmy v, david thompson, the 15 players that would be make his _____ starting five, dean michaelangelo smith, etc). when shit happens -- was that a five-second call or a foul? -- he's too busy talking about brett favre. he doesn't give a shit what's going on, he just wants your attention.

Missouri is gonna wreck NCAA brackets. They are capable of being realllly good and then will just make one inexplicable decision after another, so they might as easily lose to a 13 seed mid-major as they could knock off a 1 seed.

Haven't read the ^^ ilh liveblog of the game.
Watched about 70% of it, with the sound off. I think UConn got more rebounds than points in this game. Pretty wtf low shooting % all around.
I give UConn credit for good defense. Most of Butler's shots were rushed, with poor setup and poor form as a result, and that's why they missed a lot of them. But cripes, Butler was even missing their free throws, and you can't say UConn did that.
Quality of this championship game is reminder how young these guys are. Also an obvious byproduct of the nba snatching every promising underclassman for the past decade.

Adras said he also put Kansas No. 2 before voting for UConn third on his ballot.

So much for that Calhoun's bonus:
UConn to lose two scholarshipshttp://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=6571897
A low rating is costly to Calhoun personally. His contract calls for him to donate $100,000 to a UConn scholarship fund if the program doesn't meet the APR. He also will forfeit his postseason bonus of $87,500, earned during UConn's run to the national title.

From reading about the game, though, it sounded like the actual insanity was preceded by a game full of rough play; Georgetown had 28 fouls to 11 for the Chinese dudes at halftime.
Also from the WaPo article Earlier in the game, Rocket forward Xu Zhonghao had approached Thompson while he was yelling instruction to his players and then began berating him. Thompson stared at Xu in disbelief before officials halted play for several minutes in the third quarter.
Really really want to see these dudes come play at Verizon Ctr, that'd be the most fun thing since the Duke&Obama game in 2010.
