figure we can use this for these sorts of discussions so we can find each other’s takes more easily later on for maximized roasting ^_^

The argument about all-time players basically comes down to how much weight you give to the state of the league when that player was active. iow, if you rose far above the average of your time, but perhaps would be a replacement level starter today, how do you evaluate that?
The net effect of much larger populations playing the game internationally, combined with the refinements in training and technique, driven by obsessive competition for vastly larger sums of money, ensures that the average player today is far more capable than when the Knicks won their last championship. Setting oneself apart as a superstar in the current NBA is about 10x more difficult than when Bob Cousy played. But Bob Cousy is inarguably an all-time great.
Once you solve the problem outlined above, ranking the best ever is child's play.

just about all the current players are ridic high, and then putting harden at 60 seems really low when kd and steph are top 20, and russ and cp3 are top 40

cp3 should easily be top 25 at this point imo. russ is too high. steph seems a little high but he'll easily end up top 20

kobe should probably be in the top 50

Me too low imo

i get the argument for kobe in the top 15 or so, not sure i buy it but i get it, but top 5 is certifiable
