i'm picking the warriors to win it all... rolling with their historical regular season dominance

in an alternate universe grizz & blazers could be a beautiful PNW series, vancouver vs portland

if we're counting the grizz as favorites in that series i don't see a single first round upset in the west, though i could def see the mavs putting something together

same in the east though i don't have an opinion on raptors vs wizards. that feels like a pure 50/50 series. like some people i'm intrigued by what the bucks can do vs the bulls but i don't think they can score enough to actually take that.

the deal is they are not good

like i was trying to work out in my head out to get demarcus traded to wiz to re team w/ wall and i couldn't see how they do it. short of an ahem big free agent signing kinda stuck at 4-5-6 seed cuz they won't end up in the lottery w/ wall and beal.

wiz/rap is the series i have no fucking clue about tbh

wiz/raptors is a series i'm very happy is on the hawks side of the bracket

raps can score a lot and the wiz don't defend well, honestly the raps don't do much BUT score but the wiz can't score enough to keep pace really I don't think

the wiz seem in a bad funk that could lead to really depressing series -- like sweep or 4-1 -- on their end if a few breaks go in the other direction

in an alternate universe, wes matthews is healthy and the blazers have a decent shot at a deep run. as it stands, if the blazers survive the grizz it will be because aldridge turns unstoppable.

steve kerr seems so cool, i wish he were my friend

steve kerr's story is pretty incredible. key player on championship teams, helped put together a team that permanently altered the game, became one of the best broadcasters in the nba and then became a coach and made the finals in his first year

kerr was dope in college also

he was the official GM at the end but he helped out the front office before im pretty sure

regardless

kerr was generally panned as a gm iirc

This is the wildest thing also because it requires exactly one (1) player from the opposite conference to be on the first team, then also make the finals

I was thinking Bird would have done this, but it looks Bernard King screwed it up for him in '85.

Also fact that they lost championship that year probably didn't help.

given how much a team's performance is tied to superstar players, I'm surprised it hasn't happened before - though the fact that Curry is getting exactly one per round and (most likely) beating them all really is something cool
