partly the jokic effect for sure but even with jokic off he’s done slightly less boneheaded stuff, it’s been about as good as you can hope for. I still worry a bit about the team’s identity and his outsize role limiting their ceiling but with the roster they have, it’s working reasonably well

nobody's had 3 steals per game for a full season since Alvin Robertson in 1991, so it would be cool if Dyson Daniels gets there. Don't think they kept track of deflections back then.

i think he will prob win it you could also make a very reasonable case that shai should be third behind giannis

have to keep him in consideration with half the season to go, but I can’t really see the case for having him ahead of either of those guys right now. he’s still a great defender but I’m not sure it’s exceptional enough to overcome the offensive efficiency of the other two. he’s also at a narrative disadvantage since he’s neither going to have the best stats or be the best player on the best team
