25-29 feet

23-24: 152-408 (37.3%)
24-25: 27-86 (33.3%)

30-34 feet

23-24: 16-37 (43.2%)
24-25: 0-5 (0.0%)

so the long range shooting is predictably coming back down to earth for him. feel like that effects his whole game, aside from just missing the shots if defenders are okay with sagging off him when he has the ball up there then it's gotta be more difficult for him to get his whole game really clicking

Fast forward 12 months, and Bridges has 14 free-throw attempts all season. One of them was on a defensive-three-seconds technical. And it seems to have only become worse lately. the stuff about scoot in that piece is mega yikes. one of the top NBA mysteries of the last few years is why scoot was pitched to the public as being a derrick rose, russell westbrook level PG athlete when in reality he is not anywhere close to that. what happened there? that isn’t something that should be misevaluated. for instance the thompson twins’ athleticism has matched what we were told to expect. with scoot it’s like everyone was scouting a different player or something

the athleticism was def oversold but he was also billed as a gym rat and coachable, and I think given his age and physical talents it was assumed he’d blossom into a star. I am skeptical of that player archetype in general so I was lower on him than most, but his stats were also atrocious iirc, so being a bust wasn’t exactly an outcome no one could foresee
