The klay thing the last couple years might have been a bigger energy suck than it seemed

1000% this. Last year's games were painful to watch both for basketball and vibes. Could literally feel the vibe shift ooze out the tv opening night this year.

Good thing those old guys are the two best players on the team and playing better than most young dudes in the NBA.

They’re just old and are relying on Wiggins who’s checked out the last two season. Everything gotta fall right, like it did in 22.

suspect a team winning with its two best players being 36 and 34 years old would be unprecedented, draymonds a pretty weird second best player too

all time greats with enough left in the tank which makes sense, tho there is the idea that guys are currently extending their primes via better conditioning and whatnot but that hasnt resulted in two very old stars winning a chip, tho tbf thats prob at least somewhat due to circumstance you gotta get two old star who are still playing really well on the same team and even with the best sports science old stars tend to not be playing really well, you did have lebron winning one at 35 in 2000 but ad was 26, 2022 warriors were pretty old with curry klay and dray at 33, 31, 31 not sure those were their three best players that year but its def a lot of guys in their 30s

that 72 lakers team was stacked too so idk if it was really about two old stars dominating, 98 bulls def a victory for the olds tho

Last two years were utterly depressing, especially last year. Even my partner was like "why do you keep doing this to yourself?" after seeing me witness the 500th blown 4th quarter lead for a loss

Of all the teams to be flummoxed by this team can't handle a kawhi-less clippers. Still not convinced they won't get demolished in the second round

ty lue coaches against the warriors probably better than anyone. that game was really good tho. clippers play hard

the free throw percentage is a big problem

that last couple minutes was madness when they went down ten and then went on a run and this last sequence was mayhem

Dubs gave away like 10 turnovers and clips shot 50% from 3.

Any loss where the opponent shoots above their season average I can stomach at least. They had their chance to win at the end too ah. But yeah it's wild this is the team that warriors have trouble with so far

Season average from 3. Also why I'm not sad about the loss to the Cavs. They were competitive in quarters 2-4 in that game when the 3s fell at a more normal rate for them

think kuminga may turn out to be very important to being the 2024 dubs not the 2023 version. he's been out past few games. let's see if they can be fun again when jk returns

Buddy is who we thought he was. Always been this way. 2-4 week heaters followed by 2-4 weeks of borderline unplayability.

Spottie, I feel your pain (though his heater for the Sixers consisted of a single half of a playoff game iirc).

haha yeah. the lines between a bench guy, a rotation guy, a starter and a star are always drawn by consistency.

Rotations are about 3 seconds too late on every possession and the suns are hitting every open three

Whelp, I guess the first 15 games was a fever dream. They haven't been able to keep up the defense and the shooting. Alas.

But a few of these losses of late have come from teams unsustainably hitting shots. Not sure if that's bad luck or bad defense, probably a bit of both.

dubs had the best 3pt% defense in the league as of a few days ago, which is pure luck
