buddys an interesting player he is one of the best shooters but he doesnt give you much else, no one has really figured out how to make him work, indy had an amazing offense with him but they decided their defense was just too bad, the warriors might have the right mix tho they have a lot guys so maybe you find lineups that make sense maybe their defensive style works better for him also theyre prob just a more fundamentally sound team/coaching staff/org than his other teams
― lag∞n, Friday, 8 November 2024 18:47 (one year ago)
also on a really good contract

Rough start tonight... Cavs look insanely good under Atkinson
― octobeard, Saturday, 9 November 2024 01:21 (one year ago)
Cavs 13/17 from deep. Yeah gg let's call it a night
― octobeard, Saturday, 9 November 2024 01:33 (one year ago)
lol dubs, bound to lay an egg after all the positive noise from the w in boston
― that's not my post, Saturday, 9 November 2024 01:49 (one year ago)
cavs prob just didnt have two all stars out injured
― lag∞n, Saturday, 9 November 2024 01:57 (one year ago)
Nasty game from the tip
― lil $CHUB (Spottie), Saturday, 9 November 2024 02:00 (one year ago)
Old habits die hard. Curry and dray taking turns giving the Cavs the ball
― lil $CHUB (Spottie), Saturday, 9 November 2024 02:02 (one year ago)
They def need to figure out the starting lineup they basically dig a hole every game
― lil $CHUB (Spottie), Saturday, 9 November 2024 02:12 (one year ago)
that trend has been so strange to me
― brony james (k3vin k.), Saturday, 9 November 2024 03:16 (one year ago)
Kerr loves to tinker and do the unconventional thing
― that's not my post, Saturday, 9 November 2024 03:58 (one year ago)
I mean if you guys had shot 13/17 from deep in the first half you'd have won too. Happened to us in 2017 by the Cavs in the Finals with our healthy death machine at their peak. Sometimes it's just not your night.
― octobeard, Saturday, 9 November 2024 20:49 (one year ago)
They do need to fix the starting lineup though.
― octobeard, Saturday, 9 November 2024 20:50 (one year ago)
really liking melton as the starting 2. might be time to go back to looney over tjd as the starting 5. or at least just a situational change.
― lil $CHUB (Spottie), Wednesday, 13 November 2024 06:35 (one year ago)
still buzzing off that game. so good. proper hoops.
― lil $CHUB (Spottie), Wednesday, 13 November 2024 17:51 (one year ago)
Yeah they'll be talking about this game for a while
― octobeard, Wednesday, 13 November 2024 17:54 (one year ago)
Bummed that Melton's already out again. I've been cautious in my optimism so far because of Steph/Dray's age and just how lucky they were health wise last championship run. Regardless of whether they're real contenders this year they're still so much fun to watch.
― Chyiv Kyiv (Fetchboy), Friday, 15 November 2024 18:47 (one year ago)
i think one thing is okc is clearly the best west team but then if they end up not being healthy it could be an insane free for all
― lag∞n, Friday, 15 November 2024 18:49 (one year ago)
both wcf teams currently out of the playoffs lol
― lag∞n, Friday, 15 November 2024 19:27 (one year ago)
yeah much like last year the league has a lot of good teams, and only really one great team? so matchups and health at the right time will determine so much about how far teams can go. like i think the warriors could make a case for getting to the finals right now but i also wouldnt be surprised to see them fighting for a play in spot 40-50 games from now. the way its been going tho is very encouraging with the depth. i almost think that may be the better play with them. sacrifice a true and proven 2nd option for depth and defensive flexibility, give your main guys an easier path to being at their best in the playoffs. and rely on them still having that gear to get to. could work
― lil $CHUB (Spottie), Friday, 15 November 2024 21:24 (one year ago)
yeah theyre clicking so making major changes in the form of a big trade might not be wise, also integrating guys midseason is famously not easy, on the other hand all that depth wont be as helpful in the offs
― lag∞n, Friday, 15 November 2024 21:28 (one year ago)
on the other hand all that depth wont be as helpful in the offs
You keep saying this like it's a fact, and it's not. Pre-KD Dubs heavily relied on depth. Also defense carries quite well into the post season! I wonder why you might be so dismissive of this particular team... I wonder.
― octobeard, Saturday, 16 November 2024 03:14 (one year ago)
rotations shorten in the playoffs starters play more its not complicated
― lag∞n, Saturday, 16 November 2024 05:14 (one year ago)
btw its kind of odd that saying very mundane obvious things about basketball has got you convinced that i have a grudge against your team
― lag∞n, Saturday, 16 November 2024 05:22 (one year ago)
Mostly because you're the only one who's making statements diminishing/doubting them in this thread? The more you do so, the more hilarious it is, though.
Also rotations tighten in the playoffs yes, but depth is often a huge factor, i.e. Celtics last year. FWIW '22 dubs regularly ran 10 man rotations in the playoffs when most everyone else was using 7-8.
― octobeard, Saturday, 16 November 2024 06:04 (one year ago)
FWIW they looked great again tonight, but damn the stupid NBA Cup "differential" tie breaker had everyone going mad hard till the last second.
― octobeard, Saturday, 16 November 2024 06:08 (one year ago)
Fun ESPN stat that popped up: Warriors have started the season 10-2 or better 6 times, previous 5 times they made the Finals. O_o

― lag∞n, Saturday, 16 November 2024 06:12 (one year ago)
i also wouldnt be surprised to see them fighting for a play in spot 40-50 games from now.

damn theres someone else doing it
― lag∞n, Saturday, 16 November 2024 06:13 (one year ago)
haters, all of you!
― octobeard, Saturday, 16 November 2024 06:15 (one year ago)
Generally, the Dubs actually tell you who they are fairly early on. Every year of the Kerr era at least, they show you who they are within the first 20 games. And if they got the defensive juice, that usually sticks (assuming health).
― octobeard, Saturday, 16 November 2024 06:20 (one year ago)
They've never started this hot and fizzled, since Kerr and Curry were running the show at least.
― octobeard, Saturday, 16 November 2024 06:21 (one year ago)
They’re just old and are relying on Wiggins who’s checked out the last two season. Everything gotta fall right, like it did in 22.
― lil $CHUB (Spottie), Saturday, 16 November 2024 06:30 (one year ago)
Kerr is really coaching this year he seems energized. The klay thing the last couple years might have been a bigger energy suck than it seemed

They're actually pretty young outside Steph and Dray and Wiggs is playing his best ball since 22 when he was the #2 in the Finals....
Y'all really just keep thinking this is last year's team
― octobeard, Saturday, 16 November 2024 06:48 (one year ago)
The klay thing the last couple years might have been a bigger energy suck than it seemed
1000% this. Last year's games were painful to watch both for basketball and vibes. Could literally feel the vibe shift ooze out the tv opening night this year.
― octobeard, Saturday, 16 November 2024 06:54 (one year ago)
"outside Steph and Dray" is doing a lot of work there
― Chyiv Kyiv (Fetchboy), Saturday, 16 November 2024 08:43 (one year ago)
Good thing those old guys are the two best players on the team and playing better than most young dudes in the NBA.
― octobeard, Saturday, 16 November 2024 10:55 (one year ago)
Hope I don't accidentally besmirch the Warriors reputation in a water cooler conversation at work and find octobeard showing up to fight me.

suspect a team winning with its two best players being 36 and 34 years old would be unprecedented, draymonds a pretty weird second best player too
― lag∞n, Saturday, 16 November 2024 14:18 (one year ago)
oldest i could find was
jordan and pippen at 34 and 32, rodman at 36 on there too, also feat steve kerr (32) https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CHI/1998.html
wilt and jerry west at 35 and 33 https://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/LAL/1972.html
all time greats with enough left in the tank which makes sense, tho there is the idea that guys are currently extending their primes via better conditioning and whatnot but that hasnt resulted in two very old stars winning a chip, tho tbf thats prob at least somewhat due to circumstance you gotta get two old star who are still playing really well on the same team and even with the best sports science old stars tend to not be playing really well, you did have lebron winning one at 35 in 2000 but ad was 26, 2022 warriors were pretty old with curry klay and dray at 33, 31, 31 not sure those were their three best players that year but its def a lot of guys in their 30s
― lag∞n, Saturday, 16 November 2024 16:02 (one year ago)
that 72 lakers team was stacked too so idk if it was really about two old stars dominating, 98 bulls def a victory for the olds tho
― lag∞n, Saturday, 16 November 2024 16:08 (one year ago)
You better watch it! Lol
But seriously, I'm super jacked for this team right now it's like the only thing keeping me going this month emotionally
― octobeard, Saturday, 16 November 2024 20:23 (one year ago)
You should definitely enjoy it.
