only things that seems to be suffering over that stretch are 3pt% which could just be random but also could be because too much offensive load and turnovers which are almost def too much offensive load, overall holding up great to being a one man offense tho

In their quest for majority ownership of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Lynx, former All-Star infielder Alex Rodriguez and his business partner have reportedly hit a roadblock.

Rodriguez and entrepreneur Marc Lore have lost the financial backing of their private equity partners, according to current owner Glen Taylor.

While it is unclear why The Carlyle Group—a Washington D.C.-based private equity firm—is no longer backing Rodriguez and Lore, it is notable as the two businessmen have just one more payment to make to take majority ownership.

Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore have been working towards majority ownership of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx since 2021.

“They had an equity group that was going to come in and put in $300 million, and that equity group has either withdrawn or the NBA has denied them,” Taylor told Minnesota-based reporter David Shama. “They have to go out and find new revenue. That I do know. I don’t know if they found it or what they’re going to do. We haven’t seen the schedule of ownership yet.”

im sure theyll find it particularly considering its their final payment still kinda odd, doesnt seem like glen taylor has any idea whats going on, apparently he had the closing date wrong in the interview too

LAS VEGAS – Timberwolves players were shaking their heads in disbelief.

They'd just had dinner with new owner Marc Lore at the Cosmopolitan on the Vegas strip during the NBA Summer League. Lore had come to a city known for its magic with a few "mentalist" tricks of his own. The first is a complicated ruse that involves Lore taking a phone, putting a song into YouTube, placing the phone facedown and then allegedly sending that song into the mind of someone nearby.

Lore wasn't done. He asked the players to name any date in history and said he would tell them what day of the week it was. Nowell, who spoke in awe as he recalled the night's events, sounded as if he now has the date burned into his brain: Jan. 13, 1705. As the players checked Google, Lore didn't just say what day of the week it was — he stuck his fingers in his mouth and pulled out a thin piece of paper that said, "Tuesday."

HomeCourt was formed in 2020 as a partnership with the NBA "to provide institutional capital to the NBA ecosystem" and is used to acquire minority equity stakes from minority shareholders of NBA teams. As such, its ownership stake does not require NBA approval.

The fund has previously invested in the NBA's Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks and Phoenix Suns. In 2022, HomeCourt acquired a 6% equity stake in the Hawks from nine existing minority shareholders.
