there was a long replay review then three seconds later there was another one, all that took like ten minutes total then when they were finally ready to go the 24 second clock wasnt working and that took another ten minutes to sort out, so there was three seconds of basketball played in 20 minutes

sabonis just got spanked by hartenstein for the entire fourth quarter of a close game. he was a complete sieve on defense, the knicks picked on him every possession, and then on the other end he wouldn’t shoot and kept trying to play bully ball in the post but ended up being the one who got bullied

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 04:34 (two years ago)

xp: it was unclear whether we were watching a replay or some sort of technical clock issue or review (apparently it was all 3) but with no sound and a tiny screen across the restaurant in the bar it was confusing!

just not a guy who stands up to playoff intensity basketball

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 16:00 (two years ago)

the weird thing about him refusing to shoot is while hes a bad 3pt shooter hes a good midrange shooter he needs to be taking those and the kings need to have him taking those as a big part of their scheme its just hopeless otherwise

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 16:02 (two years ago)

right i thought he was comfortable shooting from there, maybe he wasn’t feeling it last night idk but he kept getting the ball with space at the elbow and taking it down to the block where he would get swarmed by hartenstein and OG and either get the ball stolen or blocked or like shoot it off the underside of the rim

another thing about the kings is that the game was slipping away from them in the fourth, the knicks were getting the ball out of fox’s hands & sabonis was ineffective and the other guys on the court notably barnes and keegan murray were just kinda like… hanging around the perimeter, if i get passed the ball i’ll just chuck up a hesitant three. they put malik monk back in and he was clearly like “well shit somebody needs to score around here” and just started shooting every time down — successfully, i’d add, he singlehandedly kept them in the game. just not sure you can rely on malik monk that much, as good as he is offensively. your 3 and D wing guys actually need to be counted on

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 16:38 (two years ago)

btw heard on one of the podcasts recently that hartenstein has elite elite rim protection numbers this season. it’s weird bcuz he’s not that athletic but having caught enough knicks games this year guys really do have trouble scoring on him down there in a way that it seems like they shouldn’t

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 16:42 (two years ago)

sometimes being really big and strong and putting yr arms up is enough, re sabonis not taking middies he did the same thing in the playoffs last year not sure what his deal is, gotta wonder about the coaching if theyre not valuing that shot seems like they should be tho they gotta find shots for him to take

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 17:41 (two years ago)

starting two three and d guys is too many three and d guys is how i break it down to an extent, its just not a great type of player, you need guys who at least can attack the close out and make a play and will actually do that consistently

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 17:49 (two years ago)

for sure. i said during the heat’s run last year that for all the bluster about what PJ tucker brings to the locke room a huge change for the heat was caleb martin being able to pump fake on a close out and slash to the rim with real athleticism & purpose. it’s also a mentality type thing frankly, barnes and murray just seem like guys happy to orbit around the game tbh. malik monk… not that kinda guy.

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 17:54 (two years ago)

yeah barnes and murray are pretty passive, kings are soft

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 18:01 (two years ago)

full strength suns down 82-60 at half to the non giannis bucks

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 18:20 (two years ago)

bucks shot 18-27 from three in the first half i guess that is pretty good

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 18:21 (two years ago)

suns are not good

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 18:21 (two years ago)

82 points in a half is so many

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 18:22 (two years ago)

big game in dc today

Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick White all out tonight for the Celtics in Washington.

This is the first time since Derrick White joined the Celtics in February 2022 that he and Jaylen have both missed the same game. https://t.co/j4W1hkcgm8

monk’s a great slasher though, I think he has the highest PPP on drives in the league last I checked

brony james (k3vin k.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 20:11 (two years ago)

the sabonis mindtype issue is probably real though

brony james (k3vin k.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 20:12 (two years ago)

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 20:39 (two years ago)

joker missing today

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 21:00 (two years ago)

jokic having an off day, rebounds are all 6 inches past his fingertips, getting a bad whistle and things of that nature

brony james (k3vin k.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 21:29 (two years ago)

lol malone yelling get the rebound

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 21:31 (two years ago)

yeah, i was just saying that monk has a clearly different approach/confidence than barnes or murray

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 21:41 (two years ago)

jamal murray

brony james (k3vin k.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 21:57 (two years ago)

Dunno if I’ve ever seen a shot like that I mean it was like a 15 foot layup

frogbs, Sunday, 17 March 2024 22:35 (two years ago)

lag∞n, Sunday, 17 March 2024 22:37 (two years ago)

officiating on jokic was atrocious much of he game, nothing new there, but nuggs lost the game on the glass. they’re a below average defensive rebounding team this year, which (like most of their weaknesses) is mostly a bench thing I think

brony james (k3vin k.), Sunday, 17 March 2024 23:42 (two years ago)

their starting backcourt isnt good at rebounding but their frontcourt is

lag∞n, Monday, 18 March 2024 00:07 (two years ago)

luka openly laughing and kleiber throwing his hands up in disbelief were appropriate on court reactions to that shot
