yeah but coming off of surgery or even just the long layoff jumping into the playoffs and playing well seems pretty unlikely, and even more so when you consider his bad playoff history

i didnt like the wolves to make a big run even before he was injured

the wolves have kept surprising me all season, so I finally decided they must be almost as good as their record indicates

meanwhile, tonight on ABC the nation is treated to another nail-biting match up between the two teams battling for the 9 & 10 seed in the west

Amazing update frogbs. I sat court side a couple 4th quarters back when they didn’t care if you moved down when no one was there. I remember watching Reggie miller punish his defenders by constantly moving. I also remember being terrified for Tracy mcgrady’s ankles. Never seen such thin ankles on a man that size

listened to the zach lowe pod from tuesday about the pelicans and one of the main things they talked about is how the zion/ingram/CJ trio is essentially a net zero in terms of point differential over the season, and the team is a lot better once those guys get broken up and integrated with some of the bench guys notably trey lance but also nance and some others. lowe was complimentary of willie green’s ability to stagger those 3 so that they’re still going on a prolonged run of good play even with a starting line up that doesn’t actually provide them with any advantage. that’s great and you do need to mix and match in the playoffs so green having the ability to do that bodes well, however it’s not usually your three best players who are supposed to be mixed and matched out of the line up in the playoffs

good to see that trey lance has reinvented himself

just speculating here but could see cj playing better as a 6th man than a third banana, he fits the profile bad defender can always create a decent shot etc, where a third banana you want a more balanced player, also cj just isnt thaat good so it kinda begs the why cant these three top guys play good together

he is too good to be a 6th man tho but staggering his minutes makes a lot of sense

him and zion are both bad defenders which is def an actual issue

there are way too many treys out there xp

you also prob can’t play ingram, zion, jones, murphy and CJ together so almost by definition your five best players rarely if ever are on the floor together. i feel like it’s a good problem to have when winning a first round series would be a good season, maybe more of a bad problem if you’re trying to win a title. and CJ is prob not tradable for value. they could prob use an actual PG

is lance murphy better than jonas valanciunas idk theyve got a lot of guys its good i dont think too bad that one important lineup cant be thrown out there

the pels situation is pretty straightforward in that they have a lot of good dudes but no superstars, classic regular season team stuff. they are cool tho

also they are in the west so they’re basically dead in the water when the chips are really down. could see them making the conference finals in the east tho

For someone who was out eating/kind of watching with the sound off, could someone explain what went down in the final 97 seconds of the GSW/LAL game? Looked very chaotic...

there was a long replay review then three seconds later there was another one, all that took like ten minutes total then when they were finally ready to go the 24 second clock wasnt working and that took another ten minutes to sort out, so there was three seconds of basketball played in 20 minutes

sabonis just got spanked by hartenstein for the entire fourth quarter of a close game. he was a complete sieve on defense, the knicks picked on him every possession, and then on the other end he wouldn’t shoot and kept trying to play bully ball in the post but ended up being the one who got bullied

xp: it was unclear whether we were watching a replay or some sort of technical clock issue or review (apparently it was all 3) but with no sound and a tiny screen across the restaurant in the bar it was confusing!

it was very low quality lol everyone was dissatisfied with the service
