DALLAS — How close did the Washington Wizards come to trading forward Kyle Kuzma to the Dallas Mavericks in the days leading up to this season’s NBA trade deadline?

So close that it probably would have taken only a little nudge from Kuzma himself to make the deal happen.

Kuzma otm. He'll never be 'the main guy' or have fewer expectations for contributing to team success anywhere else in the league. On the Wiz he gets to play hoops for low stakes, put up numbers, get paid, and start his vacation in April. Perfect situation for him.

5th seems pretty reasonable, maybe put him ahead of luka but with luka’s basic numbers being so eye-popping it’s hard to imagine voters putting kawhi ahead unless the clippers end up with the 1 seed
