odd trade cant imagine hield playing too many minutes with maxey due to defensive issues, the starting five that was causing indy to have the best offense and the worst defense included a backcourt of hali and hield, and maxey is going to play 40+ mins a night in the offs, tho having one of the best shooters in the league is just nice i guess

if youve never played for a team are you really on it, something to theink about

interesting the thunder dumping that bertans deal instead of packaging it with picks to add guys, it was the only salary matching piece they had

hayward was my fav deadline option for a contender. i think it’s a great gamble on him staying healthy with reduced minutes and a smaller role. but there aren’t many skilled wings out there available for nothing. he’s having a pretty good year, i could see him
being important for them. if he’s healthy in the playoffs i think he’ll get minutes over giddey next to shai, j dub, dort & chet in crunch time. they def don’t have anyone better than him in that spot on their bench currently

i also hear lagoon’s concerns about hield loud and clear but as someone who has been repeatedly criticizing the sixers for years for not having a single plus shooter role player on their roster, i like that move too

Sixers didn't give up much, but I feel they just should have used their assets in the offseason. Everyone is still expiring (including those going out the door) so it really doesn't effect next year, but this year feels like a complete waste at this point with all the injuries.

tho now that im looking that bertans deal has an early termination option for next season where the team is only on the hook for $5m and tre mann is on a club option so the salary savings for okc is just that $5m idk maybe theyre going to try to resign hayward
