i watched the fourth quarter starts bucks up by 12 they pushed it to 14 then it was one of those things where it didnt even seem like the jazz were on some insane run but they were

idk if it's just because it's the team I watch but the Bucks do seem to have this weird issue where they just go 6-7 minutes with their offense completely out of whack - it seems to happen a lot in the playoffs. I thought it was exactly the problem a guy like Dame could fix

dames having a very bad year. 42.5 / 34.7 splits coupled with bad defense theyd be better off with like collin sexton or something.

i read hes going through a divorce at the moment probably a lot on his mind, if he can start to be himself going into the 2nd have of the season and in the playoffs then their fortunes could change a bit. the roster is not good enough to make up for him being bad hes gotta be the A+ version of himself.

dame def seems bummed generally, lot of disruption in his life with the divorce and leaving his big family that all moved up to portland to be around him, and maybe also not wanting to got to milwaukee we at least do know it wasnt his first choice

yeah thats what i expected too, the previous offensive struggles are pretty easy to chalk up to the bucks not having an elite perimeter creator, jrue and khris are both good but not great, so when a team managed to slow giannis down or he was resting there could be trouble, dame is an elite perimeter creator so whats the problem, seems like theres a major lack of synergy between the two theyre doing a lot of my turn your turn things, which i think is because giannis best or a least most common plays are isos dames best play is the pick and roll, theyre not running that many dame-giannis pick and rolls, because maybe giannis hasnt actually been used that much as a roll man in his career, which is mysterious and unfortunate, tho its actually not that unusual for star big men, embiid and giannis dont roll that much, stars dont want to be the roll man that much its a lot of work to repeatedly screen and dive and often you dont get the ball so you tire yourself out for not that many shots even, and now that i think about it that kinda does sound like not the best plan you want giannis to tire himself out taking a ton of shots, but still giannis being used a ton in iso-ish situations has been a big part of the bucks offensive problems in big spots, so i do think you need more dame-giannis pick and rolls but maybe you cant just spam it cause its not totally the best use of giannis offense, but then you need to find a way to get them more harmonized and working together in other ways too, maybe that looks like running actions on one side for one of them with the other one prepping for another play on the weak side if the initial one doesnt work, idk they need to find a way to feed off of each other more, part of the problem might be that both of them have dominated their teams offense up til now and they dont know how to play with another guy, lol whoops

or mccollum played well with dame, hes a pretty easy guy to play with, runs a round a bunch, hits tough shots

that was also like 5+ years ago that dame doesn’t exist anymore

i seem to remember that an undercurrent of the dame portland marriage at the end was not just that dame felt loyal to portland but also that he liked being the franchise’s center of attention and the undisputed no 1 guy on the court. that seemed to melt away as he actually pushed for a trade and it then needed to be cloaked in the guise of wanting to win, but he may just not enjoy the basketball experience that he never seemed to really want in the first place. he seemed to have a personal relationship with bam and to some extent jimmy which may have eased some of that in his mind, it doesn’t seem like him & giannis really knew each other

yeah wanting to go to miami but going to milwaukee has to factor in to the current sitch

feel like bam and jimmy were for sure telling him he was gonna be the #1 guy, which is a good plan basketballwise tbf, and i dont think jimmy cares
