yeah hes great and perfect for the new york state of mind

lag∞n, Friday, 2 February 2024 15:39 (two years ago)

they were debating on hoop collective pod the other day whether brunson is the best knick since ewing aka is he a better player than melo. bontempts argued that melo was a top 3 MVP finisher (did this happen with the knicks?) and thus was better than brunson but man idk it feels different

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Friday, 2 February 2024 17:09 (two years ago)

i still think they don’t have enough shooting + thibs playoff history is what it is but with their defense and home court they *should* be able to win a first round series again this year. unless they get the heat but let’s see how it shakes out

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Friday, 2 February 2024 17:09 (two years ago)

yeah melo finished 3rd in mvp voting in that 2012-13 season

the defenestration of prog (voodoo chili), Friday, 2 February 2024 17:17 (two years ago)

melos a funny guy to judge hes top ten alltime scoring got mvp votes was a superduper star, and yet just a very unsatisfying player, no defense alltime ball stopper just did the same shit over and over

lag∞n, Friday, 2 February 2024 17:19 (two years ago)

wore hats things of that nature

lag∞n, Friday, 2 February 2024 17:24 (two years ago)

brunson has already at least equaled the melo years in terms of playoff success and idk if last year’s knicks team was better than that one good melo team that lost in round 2

i'd say that 2013 team was better, lost to a better playoff opponent

the defenestration of prog (voodoo chili), Friday, 2 February 2024 17:33 (two years ago)

then melo decided he didn't like playing the 4 anymore and the rest is history

gross

symsymsym, Saturday, 3 February 2024 04:34 (two years ago)

the use of medical term no one has ever heard of & the vague gestures towards non surgery lead me to believe they’re trying to make this seem not as bad as it is

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid — the reigning NBA MVP — has been diagnosed with a displaced flap of the meniscus in his left knee and is weighing rest/rehab or a procedure, according to two sources.

its just a lil flap

lag∞n, Saturday, 3 February 2024 19:03 (two years ago)

can’t figure out if this makes it seem better or worse…

Re: Joel Embiid: We now know the specifics regarding his meniscus tear. A flap tear is a specific (and unfortunately complex) type of tear that is most commonly treated with a partial menisectomy. I’ve heard it compared to a hang nail or a door jam.

When it happened it looked more like a pie ledge or a thumb screw to me.

Chyiv Kyiv (Fetchboy), Saturday, 3 February 2024 19:28 (two years ago)

on the one hand, a hangnail is pretty easy to fix. on the other hand, your knee ligaments are not your finger nail

slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 3 February 2024 19:30 (two years ago)

If the recovery period for a partial menisectomy is less than four weeks, embiid might be wise to get it done quickly, so part of the recovery time happened during the all-star break. It seemed to be interfering with his mobility enough that he should just bite the bullet and not worry about this season's MVP so he can be ready to compete for the playoffs.

That’s the version of a meniscus tear I had. Get that baby scoped and he should be back within 3-4 weeks

infinite wiggles (Spottie), Saturday, 3 February 2024 19:34 (two years ago)

Was about 15 years ago and haven’t had a single problem with it since

infinite wiggles (Spottie), Saturday, 3 February 2024 19:35 (two years ago)

its like a hangnail but inside your body

lag∞n, Saturday, 3 February 2024 19:39 (two years ago)

brunson having trouble with two huge guys doubling him immediately and the knicks just don’t have the firepower to deal with that kind of denial with no og or randle
