i still think they don’t have enough shooting + thibs playoff history is what it is but with their defense and home court they *should* be able to win a first round series again this year. unless they get the heat but let’s see how it shakes out

Re: Joel Embiid: We now know the specifics regarding his meniscus tear. A flap tear is a specific (and unfortunately complex) type of tear that is most commonly treated with a partial menisectomy. I’ve heard it compared to a hang nail or a door jam.

When it happened it looked more like a pie ledge or a thumb screw to me.

on the one hand, a hangnail is pretty easy to fix. on the other hand, your knee ligaments are not your finger nail

If the recovery period for a partial menisectomy is less than four weeks, embiid might be wise to get it done quickly, so part of the recovery time happened during the all-star break. It seemed to be interfering with his mobility enough that he should just bite the bullet and not worry about this season's MVP so he can be ready to compete for the playoffs.
