i think hes clearly the mvp favorite right now hes scoring at a crazy rate and the team is better than people thought it would be. he has the big buzz games too w the 70+ and "outplaying" jokic.

jokic is the better of course but this stuff is just as much narrative based as it is logically based

denver needs another one or two reliable rotation players. i like their odds but they have basically no depth or versatility and are relying on a lot of young dudes.

he’s been the most productive player in the league on a per-minute basis and it hasn’t really been close imo. but you can’t provide “value” if you don’t play. some dumb ppl (cf rachel nichols recently) have been complaining about the 65 game threshold but I don’t really see a problem with it

i think its smart. i dont know if its the right number but it seems like a good enough place to start

they’ve got their top 7 locked in basically (starters + peyton watson and reggie jackson), but yes they need one more dude. it looked like julian strawther might challenge for playoff minutes but he’s been out lately, tho he doesn’t really fix their biggest need which is a backup big

need some injury insurance

65 is pretty generous, you could set the threshold at 70 games (or proportional for shortened seasons) and no prior mvps would be ineligible

prior to embiid i mean, he only played 66 last year which is the all time low

bill walton at 58 games in ‘78 is the only other one
