eh last year they would lose blowing a 15 point lead. This time they were in it the whole time, even caught back up only to just blow it in the end.

but this was pretty much what I expected. This team is probably going to miss the play in. Damn

Does anyone else get the impression that Steph really doesn't like kuminga? Both on the court and in interviews it seems like he doesn't want anything to do with him.

dray has looked like himself. he was having a really great year before all the shenanigans.

i thought they played well last night but they just give up too many open threes. and the gameplan is to give up open threes to non shooters but its been burning them all season. time to start closing or at least soft closing. wiggins energy is better of late but he still cant hold onto the ball for whatever reason. i still believe they have a run in them this season but its slipping away and kerr needs to settle on a rotation. its probably time to move loon to the bench and just go back to being a situational play.

that's cool i figured no news was good news when it comes to draymond, but he's the classic hard to gauge by reading a box score player

It started before that but dray back has unlocked their best lineup Steph klay wiggs jk dray and they seem to have more of an identity

i would never question the power of instilling confidence but some of those before minutes were with draymond too no

yeah for sure. i think he's honestly helped wiggins more.

Fun game the kids were balling

60 points in the paint? Loved watching them attack inside all night. Won't really start believing these guys have figured shit out until they hit at least .500 on the season and firmly in a play-in position. They've only won 6 of their last 16 games, including tonight.

At least they're more fun to watch with JK in the starting lineup. It's something.

Steph has made 47 field goals in "clutch" situations this year, 12 more than anyone else in the NBA.

His shooting splits in those situations are 52/49/97

He's scoring at a rate of 50 points per 36 minutes.

Great win. They blitzed curry all game and everyone else got to cook and did. Wiggins was smiling. Starters got to sit out the 4th.

Looney was beasting +15 in 17 minutes. Nice to see him have a good game. It’s not been his season so far.

That’s the right role for him, he’s always been a situational player but was thrust into a starting/bigger role than he should’ve had. Seems much more doable to be effective in short stints for him.

The defense was sharp overall. Looking much more lively, huge bump to be able to play Wiggins and Kuminga together.

Think the dubs might be fun again instead of sad and old. Let’s see if they can keep it going. They have some ground to make up if they want avoid the play-in. And hopefully CPIII coming back doesn’t derail the new energy.

Think we need to phase Dario and CP to matchup specific only but not sure Kerr will be able to help himself.

But as he struggles and the youngest Warriors solidify their places in the rotation, it’s unclear what Klay’s next contract—or role—will look like. But Thompson says he’s open to a reduced role if it means staying with the only franchise he’s suited up for.

“Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with that,” he tells me. “I’ll be 35 next year. At 35, coming off the ACL and an Achilles [tear] and still have the ability to be a really good player. Maybe not the guy who scored 60 in three quarters and scored an NBA record 37 points in a quarter, but still a great threat out there. I’ve modeled my game after Reggie [Miller] and Ray [Allen], and those guys were incredibly effective until their late 30s. So I plan on kind of following that mold.”

A new deal this summer would continue Thompson’s partnership with Green, Curry, and Kerr. And even if that means his offensive responsibility will be diminished, that’s a small price to pay to compete alongside the guys he came up with.

“I put in so much work to get back to even just playing basketball that I just needed a little perspective shift and rather than trying to be the old me or be an All-Star in the NBA or whatever,” he says. “Just to be as effective as I can in my current role and, most importantly, just have fun, man, because at the end of the day, I only have so many years more doing this and got to have fun. Hopefully he'll get better at keeping that perspective during the actual games, bc he's been in his head a lot lately. I did love when he smacked the ball out of nurkic's hand to take a T for Dray, though.

Freakin love klay man. Hes clearly going through it and trying to be a good soldier at the same time. I think he’s accepting it and will be a great teammate from here on out. But it’s hard to come to grips with a new reality as an athlete. I think he’s been playing pretty well and he has some big games ahead he just won’t have it every night. Still provides tons of spacing and is a solid heady defender on bigger wings/forwards. Smart of the warriors not to pay him big in the offseason, let him slowly realize what his worth is. I bet he gets around a 3/60-70 team option on the third type of thing after this year.

xp would love to see Klay take far fewer 3s off the dribble. Stick to catch and shoot and pull up transition 3s. Keep him out of the 4th quarter too. But he's not remotely who he was at this point, he's a plus rotation guy if his shot falls. When it's not, he's an honest to goodness liability out there and you see dudes like Quinones outplaying him.

i really dont think hes a liability unless hes chucking (and missing), which hes been much better about recently. they'll always have to respect his shot which leaves things open for kuminga and wiggins to work.

another big problem imo is klay has been stuck with 2nd unit lineups that have no idea how to maximize what he does so he ends up being like the only offensive player out there and it leads to some bad shots (not always his fault). i think theyll be trying him in a few different ways now that his mind has caught up with the reality of his situation.

If Klay he could get into the 20 min / game mindset he could also go harder on defense. It’s been sad to see the slippage there post injuries
