Bringing in a +starter (not necessarily a star) so that one of Batum/Melton is coming off the bench would make them so much better.

it’s interesting. OG has kinda sucked this year so don’t take this literally, i’m just using him as the current stock example — i don’t think morey will trade out of the asset base he somewhat miraculously replenished via the harden-clippers trade for a player of that caliber if it means it will essentially take them out of the running for donovan mitchell or whoever

my guess is that he will make several moves but they will be more of the reshuffling of the veteran deck chairs variety (not that the sixers are the titanic, of course). it just feels like his worldview as a GM will need to have changed for him to punt on the possibility of trading for a star to upgrade the 3rd or 4th best player on his team, and given how overheated the trade market is i don’t think he can do both

btw not sure i would endorse that path, i think i’ve come around on the idea that 3 stars is a dead end and what you really want is two stars and as many high level role players as possible

That's where I am at now. I like flexibility and tired of seeing the team crater when Embiid steps off the floor. The question might be whether Maxey is good enough as a #2.
