Why does Draymond need to give the team space? It really makes me wonder if he'd been grinding on people's nerves behind the scenes in addition to his on-court stuff.

Yeah that best sums it up, and frankly it's about time. Here's hoping he can return and rebuild sustainable relationships with everyone. If a "humbled" Draymond can't play to his contract though - it's going to be a pretty tense vibe the rest of this season and beyond. Wonder how soon he might be traded

the lack of clarity on this is mind boggling

It's understandable to me that Dray, the Warriors, the NBA and the NBAPA aren't disclosing the exact conditions placed on Dray's return or the type of help Dray is getting to meet those conditions, because they probably involve medical privacy issues.
