Suns got 40 from KD and 26 from Booker, and lost to a hollowed out Trail Blazers team which came in having lost 7 straight. maybe its was just an Ayton revenge game but idk things not looking great for them rn

they just have zero depth

yeah kind of a hair brained scheme from the start

kd probably wondering why he cant seem to find the right superteam balance after gsw, probably forgot that the equation that worked there was "me + steph (a top 3 guy) + two more all-stars + many good role players" rather than "me + 2 really good all stars + who cares"

yeah the quality and depth of that team was so much better is the main thing and then dray and klay are big physical guys who can play grimy all of kd harden kyrie beal and to a lesser extend booker are finesse players on the soft side which is not really the mix you want

warriors pieces just made sense together on both sides of the ball. all in their primes too. impossible to replicate.

but this beal trade was extremely doomed from the start. no depth, no defensive identity.

the games where ant just takes over at the end make everything look wonderful, then you watch one like this and it feels like the wolves kinda need another player who can do stuff with the ball in the final 5 mins. KAT just kinda hanging around watching the game

the thing w/ the wolves that i ultimately cannot figure out is that they have a lot of interesting potential line ups that involve either gobert or KAT being off the floor but their whole team is built around those two guys playing together

there’s gonna be some playoff games that edwards just takes over and there’s gonna be some playoff games where edwards either doesn’t have it or is being schemed out of shooting and the question is going to be, can KAT punish the other team and take over this game? a whole series may well come down to that. i would personally find that to be an extremely precarious position but maybe we see a new KAT emerge

Yah they could be a lot More versatile if they were willing to separate the two bigs situationally but the salaries and egos are too big to yank their minutes around.

In theory kat is a great second banana but he hasn’t passed any big basketball iq tests that matter… yet

they play so many guys who defenses can ignore its gonna be tough, is their biggest problem imho
