after watching the magic get wrecked by the celtics a couple games in a row my observation they def have something going but maybe not as much as advertised, a lot of their success this year is just from playing hard, which is good dont get me wrong but in the playoffs everyone plays hard, bachero is a beast just and incredibly physical player hes gonna be very scary when he puts on more muscle, but he does need to refine the less physical aspects of his game, which tbf it does seem like hes doing, hes on a perennial allstar trajectory seems like, franz its a little less clear he has a dynamic perimeter player type game but is he actually good at the various skills that go into that, unclear, still has plenty of time to get there tho, suggs is looking like a quality defensive specialist who can do a lil of the other stuff too type of guy, past that im not sure how many guys they really have, theyre young tho so there might be some nascent guys in there anthony black and so forth, now if bachero franz and suggs were to all max out theyd be in a good spot regardless of how many other guys they have right now, but thats prob not gonna happen so they still have a ways to go IMHO

funny aside the magic had beat the celtics a number of times over the last couple years including blowing them out in orlando a lil while ago just one of those weird quirks of schedule and fate, it didnt seem like anyone was thinking too much about it, but then someone i wanna say suggs said to the media that they have the celtics number which made the celtics think about it at it turns out the magic do not in fact have their number

that makes sense, they seem like a team that could catch you by surprise with their effort and defense and physicality (the last of which is unusual for a team this young) but ultimately they're well below average on scoring and shot creation and it's going to take some sort of acquisition to change that.

yeah they will beat you if you dont match their energy, which is respectable tbf, but outside banchero and franz their offense is pretty rough
