jrue should be running hte offense more than he has been

you dont get too many of those classic pg high assist rate low-to-medium scoring guys anymore. maybe cade is supposed to be closer to one of these if he had actual nba players to pass it to

yeah i would love to see jrue and white initiating the offense much more than they are and get the jays particularly jaylen the ball in the flow where they have an advantage, somehow in this day and age its become the standard to have star perimeter players on the ball all the time which imo isnt necessarily the best

the classic point guard is dead just cause these days you need to be able to really score in order to put enough pressure on the defense to make plays, like marcus smart is a really good passer but it doesnt matter since his scoring is so bad he cant bend the defense enough get in spots to make good passes

surely off ball movement can bend the defense too if the guys moving are huge scoring threats

it can but its just not as reliable one sick ass little man with the rock in his hands

jamal murray is pretty much a straight up point guard these days btw, the next smallest guys in the starting lineup are KCP (can’t dribble) and MPJ (can kind of dribble but can’t really pass off the dribble), and he and reggie jackson pretty much exclusively check in and out for each other. murray’s passing numbers have been on a steady rise too

shai not that much of a shooter by current standards tho hes better than wade

yeah you have to remember prime was was a completely insane athlete. their games are a lot different in style but edwards comes to mind as someone with the athletic and finishing ability of wade but w/ better shooting. wade just had so much creativity to his game as a finisher that he makes for a tough stylistic comparison

or like if one of the thompson twins actually developed into a top 10 or 15 offensive player, when combined with the pure athleticism and ability to contribute on defense you might be getting close

harden MVP years when his iso efficiency numbers were blowing the league away plus he had the step back 3 might be as close as i can think of to an evolved wade offensively. but ofc james never had the athleticism or the desire for defense

i can see shai in terms of the floater in between paint scoring game, that’s a good call. it’s just the athleticism part where there is a big gap
