i dont think this is the right way to evaluate a trade, team success is too dependent on the vagaries of health, surrounding surrounding superteams and other factors etc

the important thing to know about the haliburton trade is that not only did the kings trade him for a worse player they also traded the wrong guy because hali is better than fox

do you guys have really strong opinions about who is going to be the best out of this group? would it change if i put edwards in there? you could put these guys in any order for me and i’d be like, that’s fair.

shais first since hes already so good you dont need to project him, but you still can, also he plays defense

edwards is the only one i feel like could easily top out as better than shai, the rest of them its not impossible just kind of a long shot

feel pretty comfortable putting hali third since hes a basketball genius with an already fully realized game but still with room for big growth

fox is prob the most known quantity and maxey is the least, both of them are a little regular seasony since they depend on the fast break, maxey can really shoot tho where fox not so much, lamelo and ja have both kind of lost their way, still plenty of time to get back to it but its better to have not lost your way

all very cool players tho, which is nice

shai is already mvp level

halliburton looks like hes gonna get there if not already

maxey and fox are cool but prob a step down from them. lamelo i havent watched really but suspect hes here too?

no clue about ja given the off court stuff, seemed like he was on the higher trajectory before

I'd put Ant in a category with Booker or Lebron where it's like... yeah, of course he could be a point guard... dude's a basketball genius. But he's even more dangerous when he doesn't necessarily have to be the primary distributor.

to me theyre all guards i think its fine to put them together what is a point guard even these days

i would exclude ant bc he clearly has the physical makeup to not be a negative defender, which is not necessarily true of the rest of those guys.

i think ant will prob always play with a PG in the starting line up and for most of his minutes w the ability to run the offense himself for stretches and crunch time. the other guys prob wouldn’t ever play w/ other point guards (hence the fox/hali break up). but it’s a blurry distinction

now that i think about it i remember noticing him because he has almost the same name as famous lakers virgin ac green
