actually didn’t occur to me that keyonte is a 1:1 anagram for keynote i’m gonna cut my phone some slack on that one
― slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 18 November 2023 18:07 (two years ago)
apparently the courts were a rush job and have been fucked up in a number of ways, guys were sliding all over the place in toronto last night, jaylen complained about it in the post game presser
― lag∞n, Saturday, 18 November 2023 18:09 (two years ago)
i see i posted that upthread already tho
― lag∞n, Saturday, 18 November 2023 18:10 (two years ago)
at least the slippery in toronto part
yeah i was piggybacking off what you had posted about jaylen. the players have been fairly enthusiastic about the tournament thus far but if they feel like the courts are unsafe i feel like that sentiment will change
― slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 18 November 2023 19:00 (two years ago)
yeah you cant have courts players dont want to play on, remember when they tried to introduce the synthetic ball, that wasnt even dangerous
― lag∞n, Saturday, 18 November 2023 21:36 (two years ago)
the courts even look slippery but theres no reason they should be like didnt they just make them the normal way
the slipperiness plus multiple courts having incorrect dimensions is a really bad look
― slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Saturday, 18 November 2023 21:45 (two years ago)
yeah they should have the court making process down by now
― lag∞n, Saturday, 18 November 2023 21:52 (two years ago)
like every business they probably contract it out among companies that compete on price and predictably cut corners in production
― k3vin k., Saturday, 18 November 2023 23:32 (two years ago)
youd think the league would have a standard for court grip and a standardised way of testing for it which would be easy to apply. its not rocket science and most courts have big painted sections
― micah, Saturday, 18 November 2023 23:34 (two years ago)
i would simply work only with trusted partners
― lag∞n, Saturday, 18 November 2023 23:35 (two years ago)
yeah they call it the paint because its painted. and people dont normally slip and fall all over the place in the paint
― ciderpress, Saturday, 18 November 2023 23:52 (two years ago)

This game has been nuts. Dubs up 18 in the 3rd then started doing their turnover thing
― infinite wiggles (Spottie), Sunday, 19 November 2023 03:54 (two years ago)

yup
The Timberwolves are in 1st place in the Western Conference standings (at least 10 games into a season) for 1st time since the end of the 03/04 season.— Alan Horton (@WolvesRadio) November 19, 2023

the spurs lost at home to the grizzlies last night, a game where they were up 18 at one point, just horrendous execution in the 4th. 8-game losing streak! good chance they get two top 10 picks this year thanks to toronto.

Scary looking collision where Cam Johnson flew into the side of Embiid's knee and he crumpled to the ground. The Sixers are up by 18 so of course he should keep playing.

witnessing truly the most deranged halftime act where a terrifying dad screams simon says commands at small children who he “eliminates” one by one and then does a similar thing with various mascots (the winner was mustard)

he strikes me as the NBA version of a rookie QB who is put on a terrible team with bad coaching and then everyone is like, well this guy sucks. meanwhile none of the WRs, OC etc would even get on the field for like 3/4ths of the league. idk. i read that ringer article and my takeaway was that the guy is repeatedly being put in a position to fail and subsequently has put inefficient stats like, the whole jaden ivey pick was made with the understanding that scoring is not one of cade’s top skills & thus having a dynamic scoring guard next to him makes for a good fit. meanwhile, ivey is playing fewer mpg for them than alec burks and kevin knox. somehow this is not mentioned in the assessment of his play.this part actually made me laugh out loud. this is the best we can come up with for “a line up geared towards cade cunningham’s success”
In his abbreviated sophomore campaign, Cunningham was just as inefficient despite playing most often with Bogdanovic, Ivey, Saddiq Bey, and Isaiah Stewart, all of whom can make a jump shot
― slob wizard (J0rdan S.), Monday, 20 November 2023 19:06 (two years ago)
yeah i still think cade would be good on a good team but being bad is uh bad
― lag∞n, Monday, 20 November 2023 19:11 (two years ago)
i dont put much stock in that small second season since he was experiencing an injury that ended the season, likewise hes currently coming back from missing almost a whole season, would be better if he was playing good tho
― lag∞n, Monday, 20 November 2023 19:12 (two years ago)
yeah it’s def not his fault he plays for a cursed franchise with an awful roster and the worst coach in the league…but a 21 year old sick athlete with his chops should ideally be making some shots
― k3vin k., Monday, 20 November 2023 19:13 (two years ago)
he’ll very likely end up being significantly better than he is now, but I think the takeaway that his projection should be revised away from a top guy seems reasonable
― k3vin k., Monday, 20 November 2023 19:16 (two years ago)
yeah seems pretty unlikely hell be an all nba level player at this point
― lag∞n, Monday, 20 November 2023 19:19 (two years ago)
idk they’ve voted julius randle all NBA second team twice i wouldn’t cross that one off the list just yet…
