2023/24 NBA REGULAR SEASON THREAD "THANKING FOR WEMBANYAMA"

i think they'll be in the play in race to the end so the question for me is more whether they go and add more pieces to the team this year to try and reclaim contender status. because i think the ceiling for this current roster (w/ ja) is making it out of the play in and then losing in round 1. but the smart trade was clearly made w/ the belief that this is a top 2-3 team in the west that should be making the conference finals. that feels disconnected from reality currently

they were 5th in the league in SRS the past 2 years its not hard to see how they could have thought they were close esp before the ja suspension

the real issue is less missing ja than it is adams & clarke suffering long term injuries. they don’t have a real front line. jarren had 5 fouls to 4 rebounds last night. like

yeah being down three rotation guys is not tenable for almost any team in todays nba

chet holmgren has quietly been instantly good sad that they keep putting wemby on national tv but not him hes on a much more watchable team too

maybe dillon brooks wasnt the real problem after all...

spurs are unwatchable right now. im fine just watching wemby highlights.

Super sloppy but fun

fultz and suggs is a funny pairing… both have extremely, um, savvy games. but they were both cooking in that half and it was pretty fun to watch. fultz is such a bizarre player — why does he shoot like that on the other hand he still does lots of skilled stuff on the court

James Harden lacks the ability to catch and shoot, and it’s a glaring problem. Only way this can work is if he takes these shots.

i watched it a bunch of times i know halis calling for a screen but it looks more like he cast a spell on beasley

i just love that beasley clip.

it really does look like a hypnosis act

you can tell he sees hali call for the screen and prepares to navigate it but doesnt allow for the possibility that hali will go before the screen arrives and when he does its just like what happened

not a fan of the dark court i think the big trophy in the keys and at center court would have been enough to make it clear we're in the tournament
