agreed re going back to basics in the offs, my feeling is all alternates should be recognizably the same brand as the standard unis ie same colors font actually says the team name or city on them maybe you can do some slight color variation like when the celtics add a gold tertiary color its fine they still look like celtics uniforms, this thing where you turn on the tv and cant tell which teams are playing is just inane most of the uniforms are ass in their own right and the cutesy nickanme jersey are so lame, also for sure ban all alternate courts its too much no one needs that

the one exception im willing to make is if the celtics get dunkin donuts uniforms that would be proper and correct

uniforms have evolved. in the olden days they served as a simple means of identifying a team's players. in today's sleek modern world of monetized eyeballs and player branding, their only purpose is to maximize a team's revenue stream, by providing ever-changing fodder to a lucrative merchandising franchise. sadly, they suck ass.

Those 90's cartooney uniform logos were terrible, too. It wasn't always classic

yeah the new innovation isnt so much making bad uniforms as it is making a lot of them

next step in the progression is for each player to design and wear their own personalized uniforms in an exclusive color scheme that matches their personally branded shoes.

agree re color but teams should be able to do weird colored throwbacks.

also the good alts shouldnt have a one year cap on them. like miami should clearly still be playing in the og miami vice ones and they shouldnt be relegated cos of a dumb rule. jazz sunsets. wizards pinks. etc

totally otm, if you could keep a great alt plus the regular one then I think experimenting with a third would be more palatable

jersey a different color than the standard is bad, jersey a similar but different color to the standard is worse, jersey the color of a different team is the pits

i don’t get the knicks ones but i would like those if there weren’t pinstripes

the overlapping word mark is unforgivable, and lol they found a way to put a little black in there, but compared to most of them its very good

the pacers ones feel like a legitimate cry for help on the part of the designer

that one is at least kind of funny it looks like a trapper keeper, half of these seem like they didnt even try, but yeah taken together these have a distinct somethings not right feeling
