I stand by my post, even though the Celtics aren't really staying in this series, yet.

Celtics could definitely come back but idk the Heat don't look like a fluke anymore

losing the first two games at home is generally not the recipe for winning a series

hate to say it but I don't know if Mazulla is built for this

I turned this off when the Celtics were up 11 and it was kinda boring and I turned it back on and rewound it when I saw the final score and as soon as Williams was jawing at butler I was like “oh now I know what happened”

Heat outscored them 20-9 from that point on.

uh yeah if you were just checking the TV every 15 minutes then this game had at least 4 "wait a second what happened here" moments

21-12-7 average the last two games on 53% shooting with 14 assists to 4 TO and a +32 total. the heat die when he sits

if Jimmy wins the ring this year it's gotta count as like 4 rings. no disrespect to the rest of the Heat but it's not just him being the best player it's him singlehandedly bringing them back when they're down 8 with 4:00 to play

Box score says Brown was -24 tonight. He was +3 in G1. Horford and Smart were negative in both games. Miami doing some voodoo shit - maybe the Cs unfog their brains in G3 and get back to winning. Bam and Jimmy are amazing but a team giving 10+ minutes to KLove, Zeller and Lowry in 2023 shouldn’t be be up 2-0.

horford hasn’t been himself in this series. 4-13 from the field, 1-8 from three so far and he got to a point pretty early in this game where he just stopped shooting

rob williams was the much better player tonight but they went w/ horford at center for the final 5-6 mins if memory serves

smart felt pretty invisible too. can’t remember him making a play on either end of the floor

tatum definitely had some brain lock happening in game 1 at the end, he had those three TO in a row while being guarded by strus. but i think that was him just having no rhythm and then trying to save the day. everything kinda came out all jumbled.

he did have 3 assists in the fourth last night so i think the idea that he just did nothing is a bit overblown. he missed some three pointers. he also put up 34-13-8 in a game where no other celtic had more than 16 points. i get the impulse to say what the TNT guys said which is “that’s not enough” given he didn’t make a shot in the 4th, but look at the heat. butler had the hero shots but robinson had like 8 points in the 4th, martin & vincent hit huge shots, bam was a beast etc. boston essentially had grant williams as the sole positive contributor around tatum.

i think w/ tatum, and idk if this is coaching or him, he needs to figure out his “spots” in those moments and how to get to them consistently. they will give him the ball in high screens and we also know he likes taking step back threes in those moments. that stuff does work for him but i.e. the heat do lots of off ball stuff with butler to get him the ball in different areas, or when he is iso-ing at the end he’s typically been getting two feet in the paint and shooting from there or passing to an open three. he has been getting to the baseline a lot in those moments as well to a bit more mixed results. i’d like to see tatum get to the point where he can really slow the game down, get to some points on the floor that feel like his office & then go to work from there. less randomness. prob just comes with time.

Late in the 4th Jimmy went to the exact same spot just to right of the basket in the paint over and over again it felt like.
