that’s not much of a penalty if your opponent already has the ball and by sticking your foot in front of a pass you prevent an open lay up

flagrant fouls don’t happen very often but there is a mechanism to penalize them & refs decide intent in making those calls. not exactly asking a ref to climb mt everest to blow the whistle when a dude sticks his foot into a passing lane and kicks the ball

earlier in this game caleb martin threw a pass to bam who was standing unguarded under the basket. brogdon stuck his foot out and kicked the ball. so we agree then that a free throw should be awarded on a play whose outcome was crystal clear if not for an unnatural basketball play?

I agree w/ jordan in spirit about the kick balls (even if I saw the jokic reference coming from a mile away) but in practice I agree with lagoon the cure would be worse than the disease, ultimately it's not that big of a deal
