nuggs def had some hot shooting tonight but also they just looked plain way better than the suns, not sure the suns really did anything that was good

Never overreact to game 1…. BUT the shot quality gap was noticeable for sure

if the nuggets are remotely right this should be a real team vs. a collection of guys

feel like the nuggs should consider working the jokic v ayton post match up more try to get ayton in foul trouble early, foul trouble for any of their main guys is just going to be a huge problem for them, also how often these days do you get to see a couple seven footer battle in the post its so rare

i had the same reaction — game 1s lie to us all the time but it feels like the suns will need at least two games where KD and/or booker have superstar level 40 point put the team on your back type games. curious to see what buttons monty williams can push to shake things up bcuz tonight it looked like both teams were just out there playing basketball and the nuggets looked like the much better team

kd was tired by the end got ripped twice in a row right before garbage time, they dont have enough guys

the suns have enough top-end talent that I think it’s still anyone’s series, which is fortunate for them because their ability to make big roatation adjustments is going to be limited — they’re so thin…biyombo put up a six trillion tonight. they definitely need to find a way to even out the three pointer battle

i didnt like the suns before this series and what i saw tonight is that denver also has a good plan to beat them

both booker and KD can access the singular transcendent greatness that can singlehandedly steal a playoff game even against long odds. get two of those, have a hot shooting night at home and you’re at least in a game 7.

it also didn’t feel like phoenix treated that game like a playoff game. maybe the clippers series lulled them to sleep a bit but they didn’t play with much intensity & didn’t to bring any specific strategic moves to the game. so let’s see what happens when they crank it up but they’re gonna need a few legacy games from their stars i think

sun are relying on book and kd to play a lot of defense too and play big minutes idk i dont see how it adds up

it’s true and then sometimes players of that level just find a diff gear and drag their team to victory aka the jimmy butler model. it’s not a great position to be in but the possibility is still there

booker i could see it but i dont think kd can be relied on to play 40mins of two way playoff ball at this stage of his career, and even offensively hes just not that dynamic anymore, if you can speed him up play physical take him out of his midrange comfort zone he just doesnt have the counters he once did

for sure. you never hear anyone talk about the possibility that the KD we saw vs boston last year is much closer to who playoff KD is now than what ppl picture in their heads

its crazy cause he just had maybe the greatest shooting season ever but it was like 90% routine middies, weird stuff

durant looked like he came to play to start the game, I was getting a little worried for a minute but the nuggets were able to get him out of rhythm. probably can’t count on that for a whole series, but I’m just hoping the suns don’t have enough in the chamber

despite the clippers series being 5 games, the suns guys all logged big minutes and game 5 was just a few days ago. they’re going to all need to go 40+ again and denver is a team that is going to make you run around, close out on the 3 point line, things of that nature, it’s gonna be tough for them
