the suns have 4 theoretical good players and 2.5 actual good ones, this has been obvious since they made the trade

the basketball punditry looks at teams like milwaukee and boston that go legit 7 or 8 deep and play elite defense and then looks at the suns trading all their depth for kevin durant and says yeah that's equivalent

Ayton is not good right now. The mid range is fine but he has no dawg in him. I remember him having a good run in the 21 playoffs but I guess that was just to get a contract?

to be fair the things that are fucking the suns are chris paul becoming ineffective and ayton regressing but these were also things that were likely to happen

but i think depth is hugely underrated in the mainstream discourse, one-way players (and no-way players) get hunted and killed in the playoffs these days

i think just the play should be enough to get anyone suspend not sure if the league feels that way tho they did go out of their way to mention his history, they didnt mention the interaction with the crowd but i bet it did factor in and maybe they just didnt want to open the can of worms re player/fan interaction in general
