lag∞n, Friday, 14 April 2023 22:59 (three years ago)

i forgot there was a clutch player of the year guess it hasn't really pierced the general consciousness (because it is dumb)

Clay, Friday, 14 April 2023 23:05 (three years ago)

it is for sure the dumbest one yet

lag∞n, Friday, 14 April 2023 23:08 (three years ago)

call all destroyer, Friday, 14 April 2023 23:39 (three years ago)

lag∞n, Thursday, 20 April 2023 23:43 (three years ago)

wow!

k3vin k., Thursday, 20 April 2023 23:47 (three years ago)

celtics are so stacked he hasnt even really needed to do much just playing in the flow doing normal stuff

lag∞n, Thursday, 20 April 2023 23:49 (three years ago)

none of the media people i pay attention to had him so this is a nice surprise. i agree, sometimes it seems like he’s not having the impact of a typical 6man where the game tilts to his style or something, but he had his most efficient offensive season per TS% and is just really good at basketball.

call all destroyer, Friday, 21 April 2023 00:24 (three years ago)

def one of those guys who you appreciate more when you watch all their games

lag∞n, Friday, 21 April 2023 00:27 (three years ago)

Steady as they come

Spottie, Friday, 21 April 2023 00:41 (three years ago)

wonder if he's the only guy to win both rookie of the year and sixth man

symsymsym, Friday, 21 April 2023 07:16 (three years ago)

guess he's the second...first guy was the equally perpetually underrated mike miller.

ben gordon won sixth man as a rookie, but finished second in ROY voting behind...emeka okafor

symsymsym, Friday, 21 April 2023 07:21 (three years ago)

tough having so many qualified candidates from uconn

k3vin k., Friday, 21 April 2023 17:35 (three years ago)

Clay, Tuesday, 2 May 2023 23:10 (three years ago)

da votes

Jayson Tatum finished 4th in MVP voting as expected, receiving 89 of the 100 fourth place votes. That’s his highest finish of his career after coming in 6th last year. pic.twitter.com/cHYfn0qKJs

nice couple of semi-troll votes at the very bottom you gotta give it up for sportswriters

Clay, Tuesday, 2 May 2023 23:36 (three years ago)

Nice job, big fella.

Joel Embiid is the first Basketball Without Borders (BWB) alumni to win the Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Award. Embiid participated in BWB Africa 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he was coached by NBA players and personnel, including Dikembe Mutombo and Alonzo Mourning. pic.twitter.com/A6nhGhddFG

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 May 2023 16:38 (three years ago)

One thing that gets lost with Embiid because of how good he’s been and his outsized personality is how he started playing so late compared to a lot of players. It is pretty admirable that he has really continued to work on his game even this offseason he worked on his passing and cutting down turnovers.

This machine bores fascism (PBKR), Wednesday, 3 May 2023 16:47 (three years ago)

yeah its crazy he actually has a great feel for the game which tends to be harder the later you pick it up

lag∞n, Wednesday, 3 May 2023 17:09 (three years ago)

yeah he’s the exception to most of those late blooming big dudes it’s all the more impressive

k3vin k., Wednesday, 3 May 2023 18:11 (three years ago)

not to mention he missed his first two seasons

k3vin k., Wednesday, 3 May 2023 18:12 (three years ago)

the most important award has been bestowed, lock the thread

The winner of the 2022-23 NBA Hustle Award is... Marcus Smart!#NBAAwards pic.twitter.com/87AtlfItBe

lag∞n, Thursday, 4 May 2023 16:16 (three years ago)

he won last year too, the only two time winner, hustle goat

lag∞n, Thursday, 4 May 2023 16:17 (three years ago)

given annually to the player who best exemplifies the themes of the 2022 Adam Sandler film Hustle

symsymsym, Thursday, 4 May 2023 16:19 (three years ago)

it's nice that they invented an award to give to marcus so we can give the defensive player of the year award to the actual defensive players of the year

J0rdan S., Thursday, 4 May 2023 16:21 (three years ago)

marcus won the dopy fair and square (years of narative building by celtics twitter)

lag∞n, Thursday, 4 May 2023 16:23 (three years ago)

honestly tho they should just have big man and perimeter dpoy awards so everyone gets a shot

lag∞n, Thursday, 4 May 2023 16:25 (three years ago)

that's a cool idea. especially w/ them making all defense positionless there will prob be 1 guard per year who makes first team

J0rdan S., Thursday, 4 May 2023 17:04 (three years ago)

Cool idea. They should do that.

Allen (etaeoe), Thursday, 4 May 2023 21:49 (three years ago)

The All-Rookie team seems solid and uncontroversial:
Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero, Utah Jazz center Walker Kessler, Indiana Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin, Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray, and Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams.

The All-Rookie second team features Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren, Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason, Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey, Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr., and San Antonio Spurs forward Jeremy Sochan.

aphoristical, Monday, 8 May 2023 22:24 (three years ago)

jabari smith was awful prob shouldnt have a second team

lag∞n, Monday, 8 May 2023 22:56 (three years ago)

looks like it
