i think this is just a way of saying that okongwu is the best back up center in the league (may be true?) but the best center combo is either embiid or jokic and then literally any other person

I didn’t find anything particularly noteworthy about embiid’s comments

just taking shots at jokic despite not being asked about it

I feel for him. he’s been considered one of the best players for a few years now and jokic has the more impressive individual and playoff resume. I’d feel some type of way about it too!

he could do himself a favor by not ducking the matchup tonight, but I guess we’ll see how is fatigue is doing

Yeah, I'm being flippant but they have have been awesome to watch. Capela's having a really nice season and Okongwu's really coming along

it actually shows how expectant many writers esp on the local level are on rote answers to narrative building questions so that they can turn around and spin whatever story the local fans want to hear based on the player answering like "yeah it did mean a lot i love these fans" or whatever to that kinda question

I suppose correct answer would have been along the lines of "fan applause will always be more valuable to me than my career earnings potential"
