houston is the only team with a top 10 offense and defense, per kenpom. bama and kansas rank in the top 20, while ucla and uconn just miss

Back when I was at IU, they used to call the lower seats the ‘gray line’ as when they built the place you could get same season tickets year after year. They started getting good with Knight second year the building was built and pretty much all the lower tickets were all a bunch of older fans for 30+ years hence below the gray line.

It’s not that way now and the odd configuration of the building built to keep ice for the hockey club( long gone) makes it an unbelievably loud place to play hoops.

It’s got to be one of the toughest places to play these days.

I just don’t want F’in Kansas or Arizona or Houston - any of those cheating Mf’ers to win.

Vanderbilt played out of their mind beating UK a couple days ago.

Kentucky has boodles of talent but they play so much like mismatched pieces. When it works they beat Kansas at home by 20+, then they lose games like this one. Pretty much N.C.A.A. hoops, only thing consistent is inconsistency.

xpost Merrimack is ineligible for the postseason for 4 years because they are transitioning from DII to DI. everyone hates the rule, but it's the rule. so FDU knew they were dancing when they won their conference semi.

Edey was fine last night - he let it get swatted away from him too many times, but overall, he was good. but FDU's gameplan + his so-so teammates + mounting pressure + Matt Painter's tactical paralysis killed them. Painter *had* to figure out a way to make it easier for them to get Edey the ball, and he didn't. Credit to FDU and their coach.

edey had 21 points and 15 rebounds on 11 shots. the rest of the team was 12-for-42. he doesn't have to be an nba prospect for a decent coach to realize that he should have gotten the ball more

tbf, last year Purdue made it to the Sweet Sixteen before losing to a 15 seed (St. Peters who beat 2 seed Kentucky in the first round).

im sure they wouldve liked to get him the ball more but part of the problem with a guy like that is its just not that hard to disrupt a slow mechanical post up process xp

like i know that's a goofy response but it's not fair to say the guy isn't good at basketball just because he isn't a great fit in the current NBA. he's about to be named national player of the year at the highest level of non-professional basketball in the United States.
