they reportedly weren't interested the last time around but the heat are another landing spot that makes sense. they can match the salary and if the nets lower their price on kyrie to realistic levels, the heat could get there w/ a first or two. they like vets and desperately need offense. but he is a decidedly un-heat player in every other way

it's exactly why they traded harden. maybe they don't want to capitulate again but kyrie is clearly not going back there. i guess their argument is that they can make a run this year... but can they?

Hear me out before you start with all the (accurate) commentary about how Salt Lake City isn’t exactly a popular destination for NBA stars.

The Jazz’s front office is now run by Danny Ainge, the former Celtics executive who brought Irving from Cleveland to Boston via trade in the summer of 2017 and is known to still think very highly of his game. I don’t know what a trade package to bring Irving to Utah might look like – it’s very early here, folks — but can confidently state that Ainge doesn’t have the same sorts of reservations about Irving as many others.
