i'd think that too but jrue has a very similar line and a very different plus/minus so they didn't exactly cancel each other out

it's pretty hard to pick my lowest point of being a wolves fan, there are so many moments/time periods/etc...though something about this year is really stinging like never before. i think i need hoops therapy to help me end a bad relationship. i don't know, if we didn't have Ant i don't think i could follow them at all...to lose all those assets just to be scrapping to make the play-in game, jeez louise not good.

Vaguely debating putting money on the remainder of the hawks season. the last two years under Nate they had great seasons post-trade deadline and it's looking like that might happen again this year. Lotta injuries that allowed some younger guys to get seasoned and now back to full strength.

2020/2021 they were 14-20, finished 41-31
2021/2022 they were 17-25, finished 43-29

Plus Trae is finally hitting shots again. Anyone know what the over/under is for the rest of their season?

But really having Capela back is the biggest factor. Guy is really having a great season

still can’t believe the nuggets got aaron gordon for gary harris, RJ hampton, and a 2025 first (which is gonna be like the 25th-30th pick for sure). what a time to be alive

yeah one first for aaron gordon feels right. keep in mind the mavs got luka doncic for one first round pick lol

the nuggets are also a great fit for what gordon does well, possibly the best fit, which doesn't really factor in to the trade value

yeah it was only like 6 months ago he was their no 2 option and not looking like a great player

second game in a row dejounte murray saves the hawks from a potentially awful blown lead with some um fortuitous three point shooting

gordon is a nice player can do a lot of useful stuff but the one thing he just cant do is get his own shot which necessarily makes him a purely complimentary player

Why did Nate bench Collins for most of the 4th?

MPJ moves around out there like a guy who has suffered multiple back injuries

if you told a random stranger that one guy in this game had suffered multiple severe back injuries in his career & asked them to guess who i think they would zero in on their target fairly quickly

he just tried to drive and do a reverse layup and i think the layman would be able to tell that he was not at his athletic peak on that play

yeah he has no pop at all when he jumps it’s very noticeable

a cumulative total -70 over those 9 games… or -91 in the 8 games that didn’t involve houston which is just a shocking number. they’re a half game out of the 11th seed now and just kinda seem to be in tatters to me?

re the clippers kawhi and george are just too injury prone the math doesnt work theres no opportunity to put a run together start clicking and so forth

i picked them to win the title but it feels like a fully failed experiment at this point to me

yeah if their stars played they would be very good they have a great coach good role players and a roster that makes sense for the playoffs but if the stars dont play nothing else matters

other thing about the clips is the team is predicated on the idea that kawhi and pg are top two way players but theyre both in the 30s which isnt really prime two way age, and then the injuries really exacerbate that too

yeah i mean in a sense the celtics and the clippers are built in very similar ways. the major difference is the celtics guys.... actually play!!!!

the clippers roster is so transparently built for the playoffs that i still think they have some level of upside, when everything gets small and switchy the game starts to be played on their terms. but there is a throughline w/in their organization from that conception of the roster, which in of itself is not a problem, to the fact that their two best players openly don't care about the regular season, to the point that the guy the whole franchise is built around at one point lived (lives?) in an entirely different city while the season is happening. if they were a team that was built for the playoffs but also cared about the regular season there wouldn't necessarily be a problem but they can't seem to separate the two and so they haven't come close to meeting expectations in either the regular season or the playoffs. it's the worst of both worlds

also in my findings in nba twitter and clips fans they are all saying that tyronne lue has actually been rreally bad this season and theyre all up in arms about it cos of how good he was last year. i havent watched them enough to confirm but thats the word on the twitter streets
