remember when he missed the first 25 threes of his career

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 January 2023 16:31 (three years ago)

i always liked grant as a player but he's definitely hitting the high end of his projection, it's a great development story

call all destroyer, Thursday, 12 January 2023 16:34 (three years ago)

that and 1 stat is like finally my hopes and dreams for those guys coming true. also shows how long it takes most guys to develop nba strength.

call all destroyer, Thursday, 12 January 2023 16:35 (three years ago)

yeah its not easy cause you dont want to bulk up too much and hurt your athleticism you gotta really do it right

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 January 2023 16:37 (three years ago)

funny a few years ago ainges drafting record was looking pretty hit or miss but now with grant marcus and rob all maxing out its looking very nice, and the jays have maxed out too

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 January 2023 16:41 (three years ago)

marcus maybe left a little on the scoring table idk but still he did good

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 January 2023 16:42 (three years ago)

when grant started “attacking closeouts” or whatever it’s called when you shot-fake guys into jumping past you and then drive to the hoop in the resulting space i was like okay, that’s smart, throw em off balance, and then he kept doing it and i was like hmm grant this is not your game, we have guys who can drive, you’re there to screen and knock down threes, but now he’s STILL doing it and you know what dammit if he isn’t actually getting to the hoop more often than not and now i don’t know what to think

tl;dr kombucha_reaction_girl

Tracer Hand, Thursday, 12 January 2023 16:59 (three years ago)

he loves it he loves to drive now its his new thing

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 January 2023 17:01 (three years ago)

and if can do it effectively more power to him getting to the cup and kissing it softly off the glass is one of the best things in the game of basketball second only maybe to throwing down a thunderous slam

lag∞n, Thursday, 12 January 2023 17:07 (three years ago)

wtf is an adductor cmon

Celtics say Jaylen Brown will not play tonight with right adductor tightness. Joe Mazzulla says he could miss “a week or two” with the issue, but that the team will know more in the next couple of days.

smh

k3vin k., Friday, 13 January 2023 00:26 (three years ago)

nice play just now to ice the nets game--they beat the press and settle down, smart slow plays a pick and roll with tatum who immediately hits derrick white for the corner three. everyone was really on the same page.

call all destroyer, Friday, 13 January 2023 02:44 (three years ago)

one of those not that well played but fun games both teams playing grimy

lag∞n, Friday, 13 January 2023 02:45 (three years ago)

yeah, that stretch where the celtics second unit made some moves was a lot of fun

call all destroyer, Friday, 13 January 2023 02:48 (three years ago)

yeah good game for the bench celtics needed it

lag∞n, Friday, 13 January 2023 02:51 (three years ago)

weird

The Celtics are now 7-0 with a +12.3 scoring differential...

...on back-to-backs.

That's kind of nuts.

lag∞n, Friday, 13 January 2023 03:04 (three years ago)

and i think they suck after several days off? it's a strange pattern.

call all destroyer, Friday, 13 January 2023 03:05 (three years ago)

yeah theyre worse the more time off they have lol maybe theyre getting up to no good on off days

lag∞n, Friday, 13 January 2023 03:07 (three years ago)

lol i would think that with some other teams but these guys are like the least partying group i can think of! not hating, i'm sure they enjoy a nice time but i don't get the sense that anyone on this team rages.

call all destroyer, Friday, 13 January 2023 03:09 (three years ago)

just a fluke imo

ciderpress, Friday, 13 January 2023 03:21 (three years ago)

a lot of movement in this game

did you guys see grant’s ridic over-the-head layup??

lag∞n, Friday, 13 January 2023 16:21 (three years ago)

Tracer Hand, Monday, 16 January 2023 14:19 (three years ago)

have to agree with scal that 4 out with rob is better offense than 5 out

lag∞n, Monday, 16 January 2023 18:43 (three years ago)

oh what we're playing the horny nets again?

ciderpress, Monday, 16 January 2023 18:47 (three years ago)

thats right

lag∞n, Monday, 16 January 2023 18:48 (three years ago)

have to agree with scal that 4 out with rob is better offense than 5 out

― lag∞n, Monday, January 16, 2023 1:43 PM (seven minutes ago) bookmarkflaglink

it's definitely better against the hornets, god it's easy to score at the rim against these guys

call all destroyer, Monday, 16 January 2023 18:52 (three years ago)

it's also easy to get corner threes against them

call all destroyer, Monday, 16 January 2023 18:53 (three years ago)

they should try defending high percentage shots imo

shams https://theathletic.com/4098049/2023/01/17/nba-trade-deadline-poeltl-collins-vanvleet-shams/

Spurs center Jakob Poeltl has gained significant trade interest from teams such as the Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics, according to league sources who, like all the other sources in this story, were granted anonymity so that they would be able to speak freely.

i would like to see them get and resign poeltl, rob + him at center al mostly at the 4 would be very nice, poeltl might want to start tho hes a starting quality player but if he doesnt mind playing behind rob hed be a very nice long term piece, tho having a bunch of money committed to centers isnt really considered smart nbaing these day but i guess if the celtics dont mind paying the tax who cares

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 January 2023 20:48 (three years ago)

ideally it would be better to get someone who can play the center and pf tho a nance jr type but im not if those are available, also poeltl is good at what he does

lag∞n, Tuesday, 17 January 2023 20:53 (three years ago)

the first celtics coach i was conscious of, seems like everyone who met him liked him

RIP Chris Ford: a player who got everything out of his natural ability and as unpretentious and normal a human being as any coach I’ve ever known. He was like your next door neighbor who just happened to be going to work at the Garden. And, yes, he made the first NBA three.

Joe Mazzulla takes us inside the riveting conversation with Jayson Tatum deciding he would play almost the entire game: "I looked at him, he looked at me, and we just kinda said yeah. So that was it."

Love Joe but it does feel like the players are running the show a lot of the time

Just caught the end of that game.. It was Horford's night. Just outstanding. And to think I was writing him off in my head a few days ago! Getting creaky, beatable inside, three-pointers his only move... nuh uh.

Tracer Hand, Friday, 20 January 2023 09:52 (three years ago)

yeah he can still step up when he wants to i guess

lag∞n, Friday, 20 January 2023 14:43 (three years ago)

Al Horford: “The reality is it was a big game. I wanted to win. I wanted to win really bad.”

— Jared Weiss (@JaredWeissNBA) January 20, 2023

love that he just admitted it didnt bother with all that media politics

lag∞n, Friday, 20 January 2023 14:46 (three years ago)

tatum had 19 rebounds thats crazy he really can do it all

lag∞n, Friday, 20 January 2023 14:48 (three years ago)

that game was like a defensive battle except if the teams werent actually playing that good d

lag∞n, Friday, 20 January 2023 14:49 (three years ago)

seems like by now the league should have figured out dray's little handoff move where a guard curls around him and he screens just long enough for them to pop a shot off, but no

Tracer Hand, Friday, 20 January 2023 15:26 (three years ago)

defending steph curry is hard

lag∞n, Friday, 20 January 2023 15:35 (three years ago)

and klay too but steph is just extremely problematic in that action, and then youve got drays passing off the short roll to deal with too

lag∞n, Friday, 20 January 2023 15:43 (three years ago)

like just doubling curry in this situation seems like the best bet since dray isnt a good finisher but then steph will just pass it to him rolling to the rim and instead of trying to force a layup if one isnt there he will just play the famous warriors 4 on 3 halfcourt fast break and pick you apart with his excellent passing

lag∞n, Friday, 20 January 2023 15:47 (three years ago)

noticed marcus trying to do a crazy spin move under the pick with his arm shooting out at the end of the spin to contest which just seems hopeless to me but whatre you gonna do the warriors will make you try things

lag∞n, Friday, 20 January 2023 15:49 (three years ago)

with klay since hes not much of a dribbler you prob just switch it and hope for the best, prob the best play for curry too especially with the celtics since they have very switchable big men, i mean you dont really want horf on an island with steph but youre picking your poison there anyway

lag∞n, Friday, 20 January 2023 15:51 (three years ago)

al did a good job on steph on the final possession of regulation tho! steph did not get a good shot even tho he had plenty of time and did not need to take a three, prob wouldve been better to just attack off the dribble right away and then see what happened from there, instead he dribbled out the clock and took a very bad shot
