the athletic did an article the other day about how good of a shot blocker derrick white is and they pulled out this stat “block percentage” (without explaining what it was) in which derrick white is a better blocker than *checks notes* giannis, bam and dray

from bball reference: "Block percentage is an estimate of the percentage of opponent two-point field goal attempts blocked by the player while he was on the floor."

derrick has been a prolific shot-blocking guard his whole career, he's in a class with d wade and danny green

dang, didn't watch the plays in question but that reads like a legit scandal if this gets picked up by the athletic. I've been expecting a fair amount of this sort of thing with sports betting legalized.
