great comeback by the blazers in the 4th, not quite enough in the tank to finish it off but this team is scrappy, i like them.

lakers got another on in overtime and this pass and shot to send it there was incredible

his reaction lol. my only other note from this game is lebron looks REALLY old, settling a lot, cant really drive past anyone with regularity, decision making was off

Haven’t watched the magic at all duh but damn Bol Bol looking incredible

Clay, Thursday, 3 November 2022 05:55 (three years ago)

yeah he does.

Spottie, Thursday, 3 November 2022 06:00 (three years ago)

it looks like keegan murray is still finding his feet to some degree but he does some impressive stuff out there. it’s gotta be the first time in decades that the kings will have a good young two way wing player… it’s borderline shocking to watch them and see a guy who is just good at basketball playing for their team

davion mitchell on the other hand… if you didn’t know anything about him you’d never guess he was a first round pick. he looks like your run of the mill back up PG… aaron holiday is the nicest comparison i can think of. already feels like a wasted pick to me

kevin huerter has been shooting the cover off the ball. he has games of 6-9, 5-8, 7-8, 5-10 and 4-9 from three this year. him and sabonis have a pretty nice two man game.

and the team basically still stinks

J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 November 2022 06:24 (three years ago)

i think that haliburton deal is gonna haunt the kings

Spottie, Thursday, 3 November 2022 06:35 (three years ago)

if they even notice vis-a-vis all the other decisions haunting them before and since

Clay, Thursday, 3 November 2022 06:43 (three years ago)

its true

Spottie, Thursday, 3 November 2022 06:46 (three years ago)

ok lebron was sick which passed the eye test

ā€œToday was the first day I got out of bed since Sunday night. It hurt me to my soul to miss out on the Halloween party with all my guys on Monday…Tom Brady's been on the injury report for like 20 straight years. Somehow he just plays.ā€

someone woke up from his nap!

"Kyrie Irving made a reckless decision to post a link to a film containing deeply offensive antisemitic material," Silver said in a statement. "While we appreciate the fact that he agreed to work with the Brooklyn Nets and the Anti-Defamation League to combat antisemitism and other forms of discrimination, I am disappointed that he has not offered an unqualified apology and more specifically denounced the vile and harmful content contained in the film he chose to publicize. I will be meeting with Kyrie in person in the next week to discuss this situation."

call all destroyer, Thursday, 3 November 2022 16:03 (three years ago)

Kyrie just spoke for over six minutes. He said he took responsibility for his posts — but there was no formal apology like many around the league were hoping to hear. The press conference was cut short by a Nets PR staffer.

holy shit this is bad

Former Spurs psychologist Hillary Cauthen has sued the Spurs and Josh Primo and is filing a criminal complaint over alleged incidents involving indecent exposure by Primo, alleging Primo exposed himself nine times to her beginning in December 2021 and the franchise failed to act.

Kyrie Irving is asked if he has any anti-Semitic beliefs: pic.twitter.com/hHI8FFqMbs

— Nets Videos (@SNYNets) November 3, 2022

he’s just being defensive now instead of saying ā€œnoā€ and taking his L and getting on with his life. so much of the trouble he causes for himself comes down to an inability to just admit that he screwed up and then taking accountability for it. now it has to be this circular never ending conversation about the nature of the questions and the game between the media and the public figure and what words mean. it’s not ā€œi’m not anti semiticā€ it’s ā€œi can’t be anti semitic if you know where i come from.ā€ he’s shifting the responsibility away, as if we’re supposed to do our research on him. but i guess doing your own ā€œresearchā€ is the whole thing with these people so maybe it tracks in his mind

J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 November 2022 16:45 (three years ago)

also there’s def anti semites in new jersey let’s be real. i don’t think that one is exonerating you kyrie

J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 November 2022 16:46 (three years ago)

some of the responses on those Friedell tweets :/

omar little, Thursday, 3 November 2022 16:47 (three years ago)

abdicating responsibility, the whole "hey do your own research" angle, he's just asking questions, posting links, all this shit requires to gain traction is the idea that "huh isn't it interesting how things are with regards to this group of people..."

omar little, Thursday, 3 November 2022 16:49 (three years ago)

"i cannot be antisemitic if i know where i come from" - i think, in his own antagonistic and defensive way, he's referring to what i understand the thesis of the film to be, that black people are the real semites. which, when you're supposed to be disavowing and distancing yourself from it, probably not the most effective move to draw on its premise

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 3 November 2022 17:03 (three years ago)

what a jackass

Lavator Shemmelpennick, Thursday, 3 November 2022 17:03 (three years ago)

ā€œi can’t be anti semitic if you know where i come fromā€ - this is still on the whole "black people are the original jews" thing isn't it???!! unbelievable

lol xpost exactly. he actually is doubling down

there are many people out there who have chosen the conspiracy life over their families their livelihoods and general well being but i think this is the first all star were losing

wild that the kyrie and kanye situations are happening simultaneously, its not great

lagāˆžn, Thursday, 3 November 2022 17:35 (three years ago)

maybe we could quarantine kyrie's poisonous ideas and actions elsewhere than a thread meant to let us indulge in our joy in the game. kinda like the Trump and Musk threads, but for kyrie's powerful bad vibes

i’m not sure they’re entirely disconnected

it may not work, but it seemed worth a try:

Kyrie: itt we discuss his latest horrible thing

not much talk about the bucks here yet and I've only seen one game from them so far. what's the assessment of them as avoiding the 2022 weirdness?

lagāˆžn, Friday, 4 November 2022 01:56 (three years ago)

The two timeline thing was never a good idea. You can do a couple youngsters but having your roster half full of unplayable and inconsistent kids isn’t gonna work for winning. They have 6.5 playable guys atm. The core looks good but not having vets like Otto, GP2, iggy, Lee, jta and Belli to throw out there is no good. I think they gotta bench wiseman for a while and prob give all his minutes to Kuminga who has shown last year that he can at least play some defense and catch a lob and get to the line
