kyrie situation is nuts to me, like it seems if anyone was indeed alive in the nba office they’d suspend him immediately and send him to the Holocaust museum and have him meet with ppl as a requirement. Side note is I felt compelled to have a heart to heart with a guy I know who is a rap producer here in L.A. after he was raising “interesting questions” about the Kanye stuff on IG because (paraphrasing) “people aren’t listening to what he’s really saying”, and also mentioning kyrie along the way. I reached out to him because I do personally like the guy and he seems “thoughtful” in ways which don’t lead to your usual online arguments, and i invoked my wife’s family and their jewish heritage (and also my son’s obv) and wasn’t aggro and tried to be sympathetic while expressing a certain hurt about the situation, how I had been ignorant of a lot of prejudice and over time had learned more and more, and now felt the sting of it more directly (yet still obliquely) and all I got back was something about “jewish businessmen” and weird anti-BLM stuff, and maybe I was too subtle bc I think in the end he thought I was jewish bc he commended my grandfather (both of mine were Irish catholic) on surviving the Holocaust. He cited Kanye’s career being dinged as proving part of his larger point, and I worry obv if Kyrie is suspended it’s likely to lead him and others to a similar conclusion but it still should be done.

When I first heard about that Gobert trade I distinctly remember thinking the Wolves GM was out of his freaking mind. Edwards must already be game planning with his agent to get the fuck out without losing too much money on his next contract.

it’s also important to remember that altho mitchell was, as far as we knows, at various points unhappy in utah or w/ gobert in particular, and likely was never going to sign another contract w/ them, he didn’t force his way out of there. the jazz decided to tear it down and trade him. but he didn’t force their hand on the timing of that or where they sent him

i said this in the predix thread but they remind me of last year’s jazz who were all systems go for about 1/3 of the season before gradually falling into the middle of the pack. if something happens to cp or booker i don’t see how the suns are able to keep pace
