been watching suns/wolves for maybe 10 minutes and gobert has botched two interior catches, resulting in turnovers to the suns bench unit

it’s not clear to me what this t wolves team is supposed to be good at, exactly

well they sold the farm for the perennial all-defense center so i thought they would be good at defense

they have the no 7 defense but against a soft schedule. and they’re bottom 10 in offense. not sure that swap is gonna work out for them

charles says of the wolves this season “they’re not dominating in the paint offensively or defensively” which is a good way of putting it

suns are flat out not guarding gobert

lol CP3 did the "am I gonna shoot it?" routine for like 7 seconds then found a dude wide open under the basket

suns starters are blowing the wolves starters off the floor. wolves spacing with that line up is abysmal

in a shocking turn of events the wolves look like a good team whenever they bench russell and gobert and surround edwards & towns with 3 and D guys (and not even particularly good ones at that)

of all the teams who should never be running out all bench line ups the suns have to be near the top of the list

kyrie situation is nuts to me, like it seems if anyone was indeed alive in the nba office they’d suspend him immediately and send him to the Holocaust museum and have him meet with ppl as a requirement. Side note is I felt compelled to have a heart to heart with a guy I know who is a rap producer here in L.A. after he was raising “interesting questions” about the Kanye stuff on IG because (paraphrasing) “people aren’t listening to what he’s really saying”, and also mentioning kyrie along the way. I reached out to him because I do personally like the guy and he seems “thoughtful” in ways which don’t lead to your usual online arguments, and i invoked my wife’s family and their jewish heritage (and also my son’s obv) and wasn’t aggro and tried to be sympathetic while expressing a certain hurt about the situation, how I had been ignorant of a lot of prejudice and over time had learned more and more, and now felt the sting of it more directly (yet still obliquely) and all I got back was something about “jewish businessmen” and weird anti-BLM stuff, and maybe I was too subtle bc I think in the end he thought I was jewish bc he commended my grandfather (both of mine were Irish catholic) on surviving the Holocaust. He cited Kanye’s career being dinged as proving part of his larger point, and I worry obv if Kyrie is suspended it’s likely to lead him and others to a similar conclusion but it still should be done.

When I first heard about that Gobert trade I distinctly remember thinking the Wolves GM was out of his freaking mind. Edwards must already be game planning with his agent to get the fuck out without losing too much money on his next contract.
