it's so funny i feel like every year ilh is like yeah this team is going to be ass and then the media spends the rest of the season doing stories like "are the lakers ass?" "at the midpoint of the season, it's time to admit the lakers are ass"

i still wonder if they can stomach riding this season out and giving a top 5 pick to new orleans

what are their options?

making a deal to push to make the play in and "saving face" by only giving new orleans like the 8th pick instead of the 3rd

they should trade brow while he has the illusion of being a top tier player

i agree w/ that. i think the issue is that if they trade davis for draft capital lebron almost certainly leaves and then they're in a full rebuild again but they still owe multiple firsts to the pelicans. maybe AD gets them back two firsts? and prob ones w/ protections on them. so they end up in this no man's land of being fully torn down w/o the draft capital you should have when doing that. but i don't think doubling down on AD as the centerpiece of your franchise is exactly a great idea either. not a great situation

yeah they are pretty much stuck unless they really shake it up which i dont think they are willing to do cos of ~optics~

they are going to be bad for a long time yeah. they went 'all-in' on what has turned out to be a bottom 5 team. cant think of any precedent for this honestly

AD is 29, should theoretically be in his prime and have a few more good years left. wonder if we'll ever see that guy again, sure doesn't look like it

hes looks very done, just not moving well and that was pretty much his whole thing a giant guy moving around like a wing out there, and then he cant shoot and misses half of his games

but his counting stats look ok and i see people raving about his defense still (not seeing it personally) which is why they need to ship him out asap. before people get hip to whats really going on

lebron russ and ad all being cooked is why they are bad a better bench would help but these dudes are just not top tier guys any more and the chance of getting them all to play B+ ball or better on the same night is near impossible.
